In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players have discovered a highly effective method for defeating enemies with a single shot using a Dazzlefruit. The game's success has been unparalleled, with both impressive sales figures and an engaged community. What sets Tears of the Kingdom apart is its flexible system, which allows players to use abilities like Ultrahand to create diverse objects such as vehicles and traps. Fuse is another new ability that enables players to combine two objects into one, such as fusing a sword with a boulder to create a powerful Rock Hammer. While almost every item in the game can be used in some way, not all are immediately useful.
The Dazzlefruit, traditionally viewed as a valuable ingredient for cooking, has recently been discovered to have unexpected potential as a combat tool. AgentAndrewO, a user on the Tears of the Kingdom subReddit, demonstrated the fruit's impressive power when fused with their Forest Dweller Sword. By striking an undead Stalfos with the weapon, the Dazzlefruit's stun effect was triggered, resulting in the instant death of all nearby enemies as well.
Following this revelation, other members of the community have shared their own suggestions for using Dazzlefruit in combat. Many have found it particularly effective against Gloom Hands, either by throwing the fruit or fusing it to an arrow and striking the enemy. The stun effect allows players to either make a quick escape or launch a more aggressive attack using bombs or explosive ruby arrows.
According to a suggestion from another player, Dazzlefruit is a useful tool against Gibdo enemies in the Gerudo Desert. User Sithina reported that weaker Gibdo can be instantly defeated, while stronger ones turn white and can then be taken out with any weapon. Additionally, Sithina noted that Dazzlefruit can also be beneficial during the daunting boss fight in the Lightning Temple. However, while Tears of the Kingdom encourages players to experiment with creative solutions, sometimes overthinking can lead to unintended consequences. For example, one player developed a laser weapon to combat the aggressive Lynel enemies, but the weapon's auto-targeting feature ultimately proved to be a significant flaw that prematurely ended the fight.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
