Why 'Welcome to Plathville' Star Olivia Plath Opens Up About Her Heartfelt Marriage Journey with Ethan

Olivia Plath confides in her sister Lydia Grace Meggs about the truth behind her relationship with Ethan Plath.

"Imagine meeting someone when you were a different person, but now you've undergone a complete transformation and you're heading in opposite directions, yet you're still together with them," Lydia questions Olivia, 25, in an exclusive clip from We's upcoming episode of Welcome to Plathville airing on Tuesday, October 24.

Olivia, who tied the knot with Ethan at the age of 25 in 2018, acknowledges that this approach "suits certain individuals" as she opens up further in a confessional moment.

"My perspective has undergone significant transformations since entering into marriage, and I find solace in accepting this reality," reflects the photographer. "Occasionally, doubts do arise within me, but concurrently, I acknowledge my potential to maintain a successful relationship with a partner who holds contrasting beliefs. I often inquire of Ethan's capability to embark on such a journey alongside me."

Ethan and Olivia’s marriage has been showcased on Welcome to Plathville since its premiere in 2019. This TLC reality series explores the lives of Ethan’s extensive family, headed by his parents Kim and Barry Plath, who were raised with strict guidelines. Olivia has often found herself in disagreement with Kim, 51, as she felt that her mother-in-law was attempting to take control of the wedding arrangements.

Ethan and Olivia have faced challenges in their marriage, primarily due to their family dispute and relocation from the Plaths' compound in Cairo, Georgia.

In the upcoming episode on Tuesday, Lydia inquires if Olivia has any feelings of regret regarding her marriage to Ethan.

"I hate to admit it, but yes," Olivia reveals. "Honestly, the main reason was his family."

When Lydia questions whether Olivia would be better off alone or married for her well-being, the TLC celebrity honestly expresses her uncertainty.

“When I reflect on the time we were apart, I don't view it as a period of independence, freedom, singularity, or self-discovery," Olivia reveals in a confessional. "All I can recall is the intense anguish. However, my mindset remained focused on making it work. Nevertheless, I believe I am in a completely different place in my life now, and I am certain I would perceive things differently today."

She asserts that Ethan is the sole romantic involvement she has ever experienced, leaving her with no point of reference for comparison.
