Olivia Plath is opening up about her future on Welcome to Plathville following her split from estranged husband Ethan Platt.

On December 7th, during an Instagram Q&A, Olivia, 25, appeared to confirm that she will continue filming the TLC series despite the explosive season 5 finale where she and Ethan, 25, decided to end their five-year marriage. (TLC has not officially renewed the show for a sixth season). When a fan asked if she will still be on the show, she responded with a simple "Yes."

Olivia's relationship with Ethan has been a central focus of Welcome to Plathville since its premiere in 2019. The couple got married in October 2018, despite facing opposition from Ethan's mother, Kim Plath, regarding their wedding plans. Following their marriage, Olivia and Ethan encountered various challenges in their relationship. They eventually announced their decision to separate in October.

"I have decided to go our separate ways," Olivia shared on Instagram at the time. "Looking back at our time at 18, with innocent dreams of forever, I realize that the person you choose reflects the kind of world you want to live in. At 18, I didn't know myself or the life I wanted to build."

Acknowledging that the couple did have “good moments” together, she expressed her desire to continue honoring them, saying, “We fell in love as children and are now parting ways as adults. Wiser, older, and braver. We will be alright.”

Ethan took to his Instagram to discuss the breakup, acknowledging that both he and Olivia had put in their best effort but ultimately their marriage did not succeed.

"It felt like we were always moving in different directions with conflicting aspirations," he stated. "I want nothing but the best for Olivia as she moves forward. My feelings for her are sincere and enduring."

The couple's split was showcased in the season 5 finale, which aired on Tuesday, December 5th. Throughout the season, they argued over differing beliefs on politics, religion, and how to raise their potential children. Olivia, who has openly resisted the fundamentalist Christian traditions she was raised with, expressed her frustration to her now-estranged husband, saying, "The faith and the world I grew up in was created by and for men. I refuse to go back to a culture and a faith that made me feel worthless without a husband, where I'm expected to submit and serve. You don't understand the privilege you have to tell me to return to that because it worked for you."

Ethan insisted that men and women have distinct "roles" to fulfill in a household, which he believed to be natural and inherent. According to him, cooking three meals a day was a crucial way to a man's heart, and he questioned Olivia about her last time preparing a meal. The conversation concluded with both of them acknowledging that they were not suitable "romantic partners" for each other, and it was revealed that they had decided to file for divorce, although neither of them had actually done so as of December.

Olivia revealed during Thursday's Instagram Q&A that she has moved from Minnesota to the West Coast after breaking up with Ethan. "I relocated to Los Angeles earlier this year to start fresh and figure out where I want to settle down," she shared when asked about her future plans. "It's been a wonderful 6 months in L.A., learning to surf, making new friends, and enjoying the scenery and weather. I needed some time to reflect and work through some personal matters. While Los Angeles isn't a permanent decision, I've always wanted to live in California and couldn't do so before, so I decided to take the opportunity now."

Olivia stated that she has no intentions of changing her last name following her separation from Ethan. "Sometimes I joke that I've earned that name," she commented. However, she expressed her openness to finding love again. When a fan inquired about her interest in dating again, she simply responded, "Yes."
