Nick Viall's fiancée, Natalie Joy, wasn't feeling well when he surprised her with an $8,000 Louis Vuitton as a push present after their daughter was born. The couple opened up about this experience on the episode of Viall's podcast, "The Viall Files," that aired on Thursday, March 7. They were chatting about the cost of Hermès Birkin bags with guests Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

Joy, 24, remembered thinking, "This makes me nauseous. We've gotta return it." She wanted to exchange the item for something smaller, like a "cosmetics case." Viall, 43, mentioned that he bought the gift in New York after a "big gig."

Viall, 43, shared, "I was feeling generous and here she is, nine months pregnant with my child. [It was] the least I could do, but being who she is, a frugal queen, we took it back."

The return process turned out to be more difficult than expected, much to their surprise. Joy mentioned that the Louis Vuitton sales associates were not happy about it. According to Viall, the retail workers attempted to convince them to make a purchase in the baby section, but they declined. Viall explained, “We just wanted to return it,” and they ended up leaving with an expensive makeup kit.

When Montag inquired if Joy would have had a different reaction if it was jewelry, she replied, “No.”

Joy mentioned that Nick hasn't explored the world of jewelry yet, but she wouldn't return the gift, as Montag teased him, "Looks like you picked the wrong gift!"

Viall and Joy celebrated the arrival of their first baby, River Rose, in February. They shared that her name was inspired by Joy's great grandmother and niece. The couple shared their pregnancy announcement in August 2023 on Instagram, along with maternity and sonogram photos, expressing their joy as they said, "Our biggest dream has finally come true."

Viall and Joy confirmed their relationship in January 2021. The following month, the former Bachelor shared the story of how they met and started dating, despite his initial doubts.

“She reached out to me through direct messages. It was actually quite romantic,” he revealed on “Viall Files.” “We continued to spend time together, and eventually, she expressed her desire to date. I was unsure about it at first. She then made it clear that she wanted to pursue a relationship, but if I wasn't on board, she would move on. And she did just that, showing me what I would be missing out on.”

The duo announced their engagement in January 2023. “For the rest of my life, it’s you,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post featuring photos from their engagement photo shoot.
