Having surpassed all expectations with his inaugural collection as Louis Vuitton's artistic director, succeeding Virgil Abloh, Pharrell Williams continues to build on his triumphant momentum. This time, the renowned musician collaborates with none other than Rihanna, uniting their creative forces for the fashion house's captivating new campaign.

The men's spring/summer 2024 collection of the luxury label was promoted through a release of captivating images and a video. Rihanna, 35, was featured as the model for Williams' Speedy handbag, now presented in vibrant colors such as yellow, green, and red. In the official press release, the brand stated that this product symbolizes the fusion of two well-known icons: a luxurious bag rooted in reality's principles, embodied by an artist with a universal appeal.

Rihanna was photographed carrying accessories of various sizes, complemented by a button-up shirt adorned with Williams' reimagined Damier pattern. The "Umbrella" singer wore the shirt unbuttoned to proudly display her growing baby bump (she is currently expecting her second child with boyfriend ASAP Rocky). In the campaign video, Rihanna confidently showcased a selection of fur coats, accompanied by the bags and a cup of coffee. Louis Vuitton justified their choice of Rihanna as a model by highlighting her status as a symbol of human empowerment and the embodiment of an everyday icon.

While Williams’ work falls in the menswear category, he previously told Vogue that his desire is it to “make things for humans.”

Rihanna and Rocky were among the numerous celebrities in attendance at Williams’ inaugural Louis Vuitton fashion show on June 20th. Notable guests also included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Zendaya, and Kelly Rowland. In an interview with Vogue, Williams described the collection as "immersive."

He added, "My experience of the past 30 years in this place has been truly blessed thanks to the love and support of the people. The show's location and the first viewing of the collection symbolize the blending of the community, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. It's an immersive journey where diversity plays a significant role, reflecting the diverse nature of my world."

The collection not only included dynamic Speedy bags but also featured updated vintage items and famous personalities like Pusha T. Williams' appointment as the new men's creative director was announced in February. In a statement to CNN, Louis Vuitton's chairman and CEO, Pietro Beccari, expressed his delight in welcoming Pharrell back to the brand after their successful collaborations in 2004 and 2008. Beccari believes that Pharrell's creative vision extends beyond just fashion and will undoubtedly usher Louis Vuitton into an exciting new era.
