Why Jason Kelce Refuses to Wear Underwear: Embracing Freedom for His Boys

Jason Kelce doesn’t wear underwear.

Jason, 36, made the shocking revelation during the Wednesday, April 17, episode of his and brother Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. 

Jason revealed that he chooses not to wear underwear for comfort reasons, despite his brother Travis praising Tommy John Underwear, the sponsor of the episode. He explained that he feels underwear is unnecessary and restricts the freedom that he prefers for his "boys."

Although Jason typically avoids boxers and briefs, he does make an exception when he works out. As a former NFL player with the Philadelphia Eagles, he occasionally opts for compression shorts during training sessions.

Underwear isn’t the only thing Kelce isn’t a fan of. The former football pro is seemingly against closed-toe shoes — even when it’s cold outside.

During the colder months of the 2023-2024 NFL season, Jason was often seen wearing flip-flops before and after practice or when heading to a game. In a December 2023 episode of “New Heights,” Jason mentioned, “I wear flip-flops all the time. It’s my favorite choice of footwear.”

Explaining his preference, Jason added, “I don’t like the hassle of putting on socks. It’s much simpler to just slide on flip-flops and walk out the door. I am only outside for a few seconds.” Addressing concerns about the cold weather, Jason clarified, “People ask me how I can handle the cold. I tell them, ‘I was in a hotel. I walked to a bus. I’m not walking around the city in flip-flops!’ If I were, I definitely wouldn’t wear flip-flops.”

Travis, meanwhile, found the ordeal hilarious, simply cracking up in the background.
