Whitney Port and her husband Tim Rosenman recently shared the unfortunate news that their surrogate experienced two miscarriages. In a recent episode of her "With Whit" podcast, Port, 38, discussed the two failed transfers and revealed that the most recent miscarriage occurred just a month ago.
During the emotional conversation, Rosenman, aged 42, expressed concern about their fertility journey, speculating that there might be issues either with the surrogate or with their embryos. He noted that both pregnancy losses occurred when their surrogate was just over seven weeks pregnant, despite their doctor stating a "97 percent chance" of having a viable pregnancy.
Port and Rosenman became parents in July 2017 when they welcomed their son, Sonny. Despite the challenges, they have always talked about expanding their family. However, in November 2021, Port shared the heartbreaking news of a pregnancy loss. She expressed her sadness on Instagram, mentioning that she found out the day before. Port also sent her love and support to anyone going through a similar experience. She acknowledged that she didn't want to downplay the situation but tried to find some positivity in feeling better physically.
Recently, Port has been reflecting on the challenges she faced with her fertility. Initially, it was easy for her to discuss, but as time went on, it became harder. She explained that it wasn't due to receiving any negative feedback, but rather because it became a topic that she had to constantly address and be reminded of. In an October We cover story, Port shared, "It was already consuming my personal life, and then it started to consume my professional life as well. As a digital creator, sharing your personal life is a part of your business. So, I felt like that was becoming the sole focus of conversation, and it became overwhelming."
The pain from the experience still lingers with her, as the former reality star revealed, "It doesn't simply vanish. We're currently in search of the most suitable course for us, but I refuse to surrender. It remains a constant presence in my thoughts every single day."

Port also expressed gratitude towards Rosenman for his support following her miscarriage. She explained that the experience brought them closer as a couple. According to Port, Rosenman reassured her by saying, "This is us dealing with this. This is not you dealing with this, and this is nothing that your body did wrong." She believes that these words from her partner made her feel less alone in her struggles.
Port also discussed her experience with surrogacy during that time.
"We are currently exploring all possibilities, and while many things have happened that I have chosen not to disclose, there have been numerous updates happening in real time. Frankly, I'm still unsure about my feelings regarding these developments, which is why I am not yet ready to discuss the specific details of my plans."
Port was eager to have another child and expand her family. She had always desired more than one child as she felt that her family was not yet complete. Additionally, her son Sonny eagerly wished for a sibling, not in a way that made her feel guilty, but in a desire for companionship and someone to care for. However, Port understood that Sonny may not fully grasp the responsibility and changes that come with having a baby. She did not want to pressure him to appreciate the present moments, as she knew that once a new baby arrives, Sonny would become an amazing older sibling.
