World of Warcraft has unveiled the Forsaken Heritage Armor sets that players can acquire in the upcoming update. These armor sets, along with a corresponding questline, will be introduced to the game as part of Patch 10.1.7, known as Fury Incarnate.
In a recent announcement, Blizzard revealed this new patch shortly after the release of Patch 10.1.5, titled Fractures in Time. This update brings fresh story content, enhancements to improve gameplay experience, and introduces Dreamsurges, an exciting new public activity.
The upcoming patch will introduce Heritage Armor questlines and new customization options for the Forsaken and Night Elves. While the Night Elf set remains a mystery, the Forsaken Heritage Armor has been showcased, featuring a dark purple ensemble with a hood, face mask, and various skull and spike motifs. Notably, it deviates from the traditional Forsaken imagery seen in previous World of Warcraft expansions. The armor also includes a distinctive coffin back piece and a belt adorned with the symbol of Lordaeron. Additional variants of both sets will be revealed at a later date.
With the inclusion of Forsaken and Night Elf Heritage Armor, only three races, excluding the new Dracthyr from Dragonflight, currently lack Heritage Armor sets: Draenei, Trolls, and Pandaren. Human and Orc players received Heritage Armor in Patch 10.0.7, suggesting that these remaining races may receive their own sets in Patch 10.2.7. Furthermore, Patch 10.1.7 will introduce a story quest that focuses on a new future for the Draenei in World of Warcraft.
Many players eagerly anticipate the release of the new Heritage Armor sets, as they have a reputation for featuring compelling questlines in the World of Warcraft. Excitement surrounds the potential content and design of these sets. While some players have expressed criticisms regarding the Forsaken Heritage Armor's chest piece, overall reception has been positive, with its resemblance to the beloved Forsaken standard-bearer from the Battle for Azeroth cinematic gaining appreciation.
Player speculation regarding the Night Elf Heritage Armor set is already widespread. There is hope among players that the set will draw inspiration from the iconic armor worn by Night Elf archers in Warcraft 3, which has also made appearances in cinematics and on NPCs in World of Warcraft. Furthermore, considering the fact that Patch 10.2 will likely revolve around Amirdrassil, the new World Tree in World of Warcraft, the last two Dragonflight patches of 2023 hold significant importance for Night Elf enthusiasts.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
