Universal Studios Japan is introducing Pokemon-themed food items for the first time ever, adding to its already popular pop culture offerings.
The Halloween Party menu will showcase five creatively themed food items and one beverage, all elegantly incorporating the spooky colors and motifs of beloved ghost-type Pokemon.
Additionally, the park will host a Pokemon DJ Party event and a family-friendly Halloween Party. Moreover, visitors can look forward to exploring an array of fresh merchandise and delectable treats inspired by My Melody, Kuromi, and Resident Evil.
Japan may always have a variety of Pokemon-themed foods and restaurants, but that doesn't take away from the excitement of news about new ones - especially when they come with amazing theming. Universal Studios Japan has just made a groundbreaking announcement: for the first time ever, they will be offering Pokemon-themed dishes for visitors to enjoy in the park. These delectable creations are guaranteed to captivate the hearts of any Pokemon fan.
Universal Studios Japan is already a haven for enthusiasts of pop culture and anime, featuring dedicated sections for Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, Jaws, and most recently, Super Mario Bros. In the past, the park has also introduced limited-time rides, menu items, and merchandise based on popular anime and video games, including Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and even Final Fantasy. However, despite its immense popularity in Japan, Universal Studios Japan has until now been missing a dedicated Pokemon experience.
Pikachu and his friends are set to make their long-awaited debut at USJ this Halloween, offering an array of special menu items. Alongside the food offerings, the park will host its inaugural Pokemon DJ Party event and a kid-friendly daytime event called "Hahaha! Halloween Party!" that hints at character appearances. Given the recent parade in Yokohama featuring numerous Pokemon mascot characters, it's easy to envision a similar spectacular at USJ this autumn.
USJ has revealed a total of five food items and one drink for their Halloween event. The food items include DJ Pikachu's Halloween Party Plate (beef stew), DJ Gengar's Halloween Party Plate (three types of curry), Imitation! Mimikyu's Milk Mousse and Crêpe, DJ Pikachu and DJ Gengar's Jumpin' Halloween Party Kids' Plate (hamburger and a donut), and Banette's Jumpin' Chocolate Cake. Additionally, there is Misdreavus' Prank?! Grape Jelly and Soda as a refreshing drink option. Each menu item embraces the Halloween theme with character-inspired designs on the food or packaging, and an eerie color palette of black, gray, purple, and orange.
The Halloween Party menu had an excellent lineup of Pokemon. Naturally, Pikachu was a staple, regardless of the theme. Joining Pikachu were four other fantastic choices: Mimikyu, Gengar, Misdreavus, and Banette, all beloved ghost-type Pokemon. It's a perfect fit to have them as the mascots for a Halloween party! Hopefully, we'll soon see some amazing merchandise featuring these Pokemon, especially Misdreavus and Banette, who are rarely seen on products.
In addition to the new Pokemon merchandise arriving at USJ this fall, there will be a range of exciting new products and treats featuring Sanrio's beloved characters My Melody and Kuromi, as well as a delicious new churro inspired by Resident Evil. As part of their annual Halloween celebration, USJ will once again host a thrilling zombie outbreak in the park after dark, with this year promising to be the biggest yet in terms of the number of zombies. Additionally, the familiar faces of USJ, like Snoopy and the Minions, will be joining in on the Halloween festivities with their own special costumes.
This fall, Universal Studios Japan is set to become the ultimate destination for enthusiasts and fans, with a plethora of new attractions, visual spectacles, and enticing products to indulge in – all with Pokemon leading the way! The new merchandise is available for purchase starting this week, while the delectable food and beverage offerings will be introduced in the park on September 4th. From September 8th to November 5th, the Halloween parties and events will run for a memorable two months, providing ample time for celebration and enjoyment.
