Players in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom who want to upgrade their armor will need to enlist the help of Hyrule's Great Fairies. However, the fairies have gone into hiding due to the dangers lurking in the world. The only way to lure them out of their fountains is by playing their favorite instruments.
Where to Find Great Fairy Cotera in TotK
Great Fairy Cotera, one of the fairies in Tears of the Kingdom, can be located near the Dueling Peaks of the Necluda region at the coordinates 1766, -2172, 0013. However, players need to complete the "Serenade to Cotera" side quest before she will unlock her fountain due to the dangers of the outside world.
Players who have successfully completed the "Serenade to a Great Fairy" side quest can embark on a new adventure called "Serenade to Cotera." This quest can be initiated at the Dueling Peaks Stable, which is located directly north of the Great Fairy Fountain at coordinates 1750, -1921, 0010.
For those who have already been to the Eshos Shrine, teleporting to it can provide quick access to both the stable and the fountain. Additionally, the Stable Trotters will be practicing in the nearby amphitheater, which is located next to the Dueling Peaks Stable.
Serenade to Cotera Walkthrough
Link will discover from Mastro the conductor that there is another Great Fairy who has secluded herself in her fountain. Despite the troupe's repeated attempts, Cotera refuses to emerge.
Great Fairy Cotera thoroughly enjoyed the performances of the troupe, particularly the captivating beats of their former drummer, Beetz. Regrettably, both Beetz and his drum have been absent for a considerable time.
However, Mastro does mention that the sound of a drum was heard along the road from Kakariko Village.
Finding Beetz
To reach their destination, players have two options. They can follow the road north from Dueling Peaks Stable towards Kakariko Village or they could teleport to Makasura Shrine located in the village and then proceed southwards along the road.
As players venture towards the coordinates 2139, -1380, 0108, they will come across a quaint underpass situated beside a bend in the road. Crossing over to the other side, players will be greeted with a cozy campsite where Beetz can be seen playing his drum with great enthusiasm.
In case players haven't finished the "Honey, Bee Mine" side quest, they'll discover that Beetz has set out to find Courser Bee Honey. He explains that Mastro has been feeling low and thinks that preparing some honey crepes could cheer him up.
In order to persuade Beetz to rejoin the troupe, players are tasked with gathering ten combs of Courser Bee Honey. Luckily, the nearby forested area, as well as many other locations in Necluda, are teeming with bee hives just waiting to be harvested.
Once Link has collected enough combs of honey, Beetz will quickly whip up a honey crepe and return to the Stable Trotters at Dueling Peaks Stable.
Repairing Breezer
Beetz's return to Mastro will bring joy, but their happiness will be short-lived as they face another obstacle. Their wagon Breezer has been damaged once again, and to add to their troubles, the nearby river's bridge has been destroyed due to debris from the sky.
Players will need to modify Breezer to cross the river using Zonai Devices found near the debris and enough wood to keep the whole thing buoyant.
Creating a motorized boat, as shown above, is one such way that players can safely transport the Stable Trotters across the river.
With Beetz now with them, the troupe will assemble at the Great Fairy Fountain and begin to serenade Cotera.
Players can look forward to an exciting moment when Cotera emerges from hiding to express gratitude for the performance. Following this, players can visit Cotera at her Great Fairy Fountain to upgrade their armor. The level of the upgrade will depend on the number of Great Fairy Fountains the player has access to, with each Great Fairy's power adding to the overall upgrade. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
