How To Get To Apogek Shrine
Navigating through some Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be deceivingly simple or complex, depending on how one approaches it. The Apogek Shrine falls into the former category, as players may initially overthink the physics puzzle. However, with good timing and a basic understanding of plane mechanics, the Shrine can be conquered easily. The Wing Zonai Device is a helpful tool that players can use, but caution is necessary to avoid resetting rooms that are difficult to traverse.
Located atop a ridge at coordinates (3889, -0216, 0164) between Zora's Domain, Talus Mountain, and Mount Lanayru, Apogek Shrine can be accessed most easily through flight due to the frequent rain in the greater Lanayru region. Without grippy buffs, climbing can be a challenge.
Apogek Shrine Walkthrough (Wings on Wind)
To reach the Apogek Shrine, players must navigate through a mountainous terrain that is situated at a considerable height. For those who opt for flying, it's recommended to equip parts that can quickly elevate their altitude. One of the easiest ways to reach the Shrine is by using a Rocket attached to a Wing Zonai Device, launched from the southern side of the river. Alternatively, players can also use a Balloon fused to a base, but that requires a fire source and a platform attached to the base of the Balloon in addition to Zonai parts.
Upon entering the first room of Apogek Shrine, players will notice rails leading downwards and a line of Wing Zonai Devices being launched from left to right. Advance forward until Link's Ultrahand ability can reach one of these Wings mid-air. Grab it and return to the starting point of the room.
Attach the small ball to the middle-front of the Wing for optimal balance before placing it on the rails. Quickly jump onto the Wing as it gains speed rapidly on the material. As long as the plane remains balanced, players can effortlessly glide to the end of the room. However, avoid walking around too much as Link's weight can easily redirect and unbalance the Wing.
Attach the two fans you picked up to both sides of the Wing and lift the plane up. Place it onto the rails once again and activate the Fans during take-off. The plane should start sliding and will need enough momentum to reach the end. From there, players can move on to the next challenge.
The landing area at the end of Apogek Shrine is quite spacious, located at a considerable distance from the launch rails. Fortunately, players do not have to worry about their batteries running out while inside the shrine, at least not during this segment. It is advisable to activate the fans well before taking off to achieve maximum speed. Expert players who are adept at manipulating the paraglider's speed with Tulin's Sage Ability may even be able to reach the end without the need for any additional constructions.
- How To Get The Apogek Shrine Chest
To get the Strong Zonaite Spear hidden inside the Chest in Apogek Shrine, head to the second room with three downward-facing ramps. Once you've taken the Fans upward, look to your left to spot a barely visible Chest on top of a small series of platforms. Grab one of the Wing devices and use Ultrahand to lift it up next to the Chest's platform. Lower it back down and climb on top of the wing. Now, use Recall to lift the Wing back up and jump off to open the Chest. Inside, you'll find the coveted Strong Zonaite Spear.
