Unveiling the Secret Chichim Shrine: Explore the Ancient Prison Ruins

Embark on a perilous journey through the treacherous Ancient Prison Ruins to reach the elusive Chichim Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Navigate deadly quicksand and overcome daunting obstacles to earn Rauru's Blessing in this epic adventure

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, shrines play a crucial role as a gameplay mechanic, just like in Breath of the Wild. With over 150 of these mini-combat and puzzle zones to explore, players must complete them to obtain a Light of Blessing. Upon turning in four of these, players can exchange them for a health or stamina upgrade at a Goddess Statue. However, Tears of the Kingdom takes it up a notch by featuring shrines not only in Hyrule but also on the sky islands. Each shrine presents a unique challenge for players to overcome, ranging from combat tutorials to traditional puzzles, utilizing the new Zonai abilities that Link gains access to at the start of the game. With such a diverse range of gameplay, players will always be on their toes, never knowing what to expect next.

Hidden within the Ancient Prison Ruins, the Chichim Shrine stands out from most other shrines as it is located within an external area. Upon entering the shrine, players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are instantly rewarded with Rauru's Blessing.

Where is the Chichim Shrine?

To find the Ancient Prison Ruins, adventurers must venture to the Gerudo Desert in the southwestern part of the map. The Palu Wasteland, located to the east of Gerudo Town, is home to a treacherous whirlpool of quicksand. It is essential to note that this region of the desert experiences extreme heat, so players should equip themselves with appropriate clothing or items to withstand the harsh weather conditions.

Players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can locate the exact spot by using the coordinates -3090, -3055, 0100. Despite the seeming risk, players are advised to take the plunge into the whirlpool, which will transport them to the Ancient Prison Ruins.

Ancient Prison Ruins/Chichim Shrine Walkthrough

The objective in this section is to uncover the elusive Chichim Shrine, concealed within the ruins. The Ancient Prison Ruins offer a blend of strategic combat and puzzle-solving, incorporating various components from classic The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom shrines.

Begin by sprinting down the initial corridor and utilizing Link's Ultrahand capability to activate the sizable lever and release the gate. In addition, this passageway is abundant with deposits that can be smashed with a hammer to reveal precious gemstones, amber, flint, and luminous stones.

In a small room beyond the gate, arrows are scattered about. To the left, players will encounter Gibdo monsters resembling mummies. It is advisable to use fire-enhanced attacks to defeat them effectively. Although there are several side rooms in this corridor, they can be ignored. As players continue to follow the path, they will come across a statue indicating a half-opened gate with a sword.

Proceed through the gate and drop through the broken floor, bypassing the lever for the time being. Crouch and crawl through the narrow opening to the right, and continue down the corridor to the left where you'll encounter more Gibdo and electric Chuchu. Ascend the pile of rubble in the far corner of the chamber to return to the upper floor, but be prepared for the floor to give way, exposing a Bubbulfrog and an easy Bubbul Gem for Koltin. Another statue in the area points in the correct direction, leading you to a closed gate with two lit fires. The shrine lies beyond the bars, so use Link's Ascend ability to reach the new chamber above. A chest in this room contains a Gerudo Scimitar.

Using the Ultrahand tool, explore the Stone Slabs on the room's floor to discover a concealed lever that can be manipulated. This action will unveil a secret passageway leading to the Chichim Shrine, where the Blessing of Light and a powerful Zonaite Spear awaits.
