Best Armor Combinations for Sapphire Circlet
In Tears of the Kingdom, players will find themselves on the Great Sky Island, where they must find a way to protect themselves from the harsh cold weather. This introduces the game's temperature and weather effects mechanic. Along with the cold, Link will also face heat-related issues if he doesn't have the appropriate armor.
To combat the cold, Tears of the Kingdom offers various armor pieces with Cold Resistance, including the expensive Sapphire Circlet. However, new players might find it difficult to afford the Sapphire Circlet, particularly if they have been investing in upgrading their other cold-resistant armor.
Sapphire Circlet Location (Before Lightning Temple)
The Starlit Memories jewelry store in Gerudo Town (-3875, -2864, 0043) is where you can find the Sapphire Circlet. You can reach Gerudo Town by following the path southeast of Kara Kara Bazaar (-3273, -2551, 0023). When you first arrive, you'll notice that Gerudo Town is deserted, but don't worry, the residents have taken shelter beneath the town. To access the shelter, follow these steps:
From the north entrance, go to the left around coordinates -3792, 2903, 0043. There will be an ornate basin that players can jump in.
Link will then land in the waterway below Gerudo Town.
Swim in a straight line until Link can walk in the shallow water. Proceed through the tunnels, where players will eventually discover a bottle containing a letter. The specific contents of this letter are insignificant; however, players will observe multiple letters floating downstream.
Find the origin of the bottles, which will ultimately guide Link to a chamber featuring a rope hanging down from a hole in the ceiling.
Position oneself beneath the opening in the ceiling (or in its vicinity) and employ Ascend to gain access to the Gerudo Shelter.
In the main room of the shelter, there is a merchant selling jewelry. Interacting with her initiates the "Missing Merchant" side quest, which is more convenient for players to undertake after completing the Lightning Temple. However, for now, players can purchase the Sapphire Circlet for 1400 Rupees. It may be a bit expensive, but it serves as a valuable accessory for Link while traversing the Gerudo Wasteland during nighttime or exploring colder areas such as Hebra, Gerudo Highlands, or some of the Sky Islands.
Sapphire Circlet Location (After Lightning Temple)
If players have already completed the Lightning Temple, they can locate Starlit Memories (-3875, -2864, 0043) to the right, beyond Gerudo Town's north gate. The Sapphire Circlet will have the same price whether purchased by Link in the shelter or in Gerudo Town. Additionally, there are three other accessories that were not obtainable in the shelter.
How to Upgrade the Sapphire Circlet (& Is It Worth Upgrading?)
Players can upgrade the Sapphire Circlet from a defense of 3 to a maximum defense of 20 by completing the "Serenade to a Great Fairy" quests. The first quest, a mandatory part of the "Potential Princess Sightings!" side adventure, can be obtained by speaking to Traysi at the Lucky Clover Gazette, located near the bridge to Rito Village. Completing this quest will enable Link to raise the level of his armor to 1-star, and to reach the maximum level of 4-stars, all Great Fairy Springs must be unlocked.
Here are the upgrade requirements that players are looking at regarding the Sapphire Circlet:
Level | Defense | Materials Required | Price |
---|---|---|---|
★ | 5 |
| 10 Rupees |
★★ | 8 |
| 50 |
★★★ | 12 |
| 200 |
★★★★ | 20 |
| 500 |
Flint is the most accessible material for upgrading the Sapphire Circlet. It can be easily obtained as a common drop from any Ore Deposit in TotK.
In contrast, Sapphires can only be obtained from Rare Ore Deposits and are the second most challenging ore to acquire, with diamonds being the hardest to obtain.
Star Fragments, which are celestial objects, have the propensity to collide with our planet during nighttime and are easily visible from a considerable distance. However, if players fail to swiftly determine their precise whereabouts, these fragments will vanish into thin air. Fortunately, in order to facilitate the acquisition of Star Fragments, TotK has devised an alternative method: diving from either a Skyview Tower or a Sky Island during the night. This allows the possibility of witnessing a Star Fragment streaking past Link. If he happens to be in close proximity to it, players can swiftly seize the fragment while it is still airborne by pressing the A-button.
Best Armor Combinations for Sapphire Circlet
While the Sapphire Circlet does provide a single level of cold-resistance upon purchase, it does not form an integral piece of any particular armor set. Consequently, it does not contribute to the acquisition of any set bonuses when combined with other armor pieces. Nonetheless, it can be effectively paired with defensive armors like the Champion's Leathers or the Armor of the Wild (with the exception of the Cap of the Wild).
Players can pair the Sapphire Circlet with either the Sand Boots or Snow Boots to enhance their gameplay. Wearing the Sand Boots will enable Link to run at his usual speed in sandy areas, while the Snow Boots will provide the same effect in snowy terrains. However, it should be noted that the combination of Sand Boots and Sapphire Circlet is more beneficial for those who venture into the Gerudo Wastelands during nighttime, whereas the Snow Boots and Sapphire Circlet combo is better suited for other scenarios. Don't forget that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be enjoyed on the Nintendo Switch.
