Unveiling the Hidden wonders of Zelda: Puffer Beach Overhead Cave Guide

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players can explore and discover over 140 caves scattered throughout Hyrule's surface. These caves offer a variety of helpful materials and unique treasures, and are inhabited by Bubbulfrogs. Clearing a cave involves defeating the Bubbulfrog and claiming its Bubbul Gem, which is indicated by a checkmark on the cave's icon on the world map. Players can then exchange these Bubbul Gems for exciting rewards.

For those seeking a challenge and valuable items, the Puffer Beach Overhead Cave is a must-visit. This cave is easily identifiable by a cluster of glowing stones on its ceiling. However, accessing the cave requires players to use Link's abilities creatively. Unlike other caves, the entrance to the Puffer Beach Overhead Cave is located above ground level and cannot be accessed using Ascend. To enter this cave, players need to follow these steps in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Puffer Beach Overhead Cave

The entrance to Puffer Beach Overhead Cave is located at the coordinates (0283, -3851, 0004) on the world map. Situated along the coastline of the Faron Sea, Puffer Beach can be found slightly to the northeast. To reach this destination, you can teleport to Utsushok Shrine near Highland Stable or Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, which are the closest teleport locations. From either of these locations, simply head southwest towards the coast.

Once Link arrives at Puffer Beach, located at coordinates (0258, -3884, 0002), they will discover two Rocket Zonai devices positioned alongside some stones. These devices hold immense importance as they grant access to the entrance of the cave. It is recommended that players save their progress at this spot to enable the option of reloading in case the initial attempts prove unsuccessful. This way, players can regain access to the Rockets and make another attempt.

Equip a shield near the rockets and then select the Fuse ability. Use Fuse to attach a rocket to the shield you have equipped by pressing ZL. Alternatively, you can use the Ultrahand to bring the rockets below the entrance of the overhead cave and attempt a different method of accessing the cave by fusing them to other objects. Another option is to use a Zonai Spring Device to launch yourself into the cave, but make sure you have that device with you before you arrive. Nevertheless, using a rocket shield is the easiest way to reach the cave entrance.

If the rocket shield method is being utilized, position Link right below the entrance of the cave, at coordinates (0283, -3851, 0004). Proceed by equipping the rocket shield and then press and hold ZL to activate immediate upward propulsion, propelling Link into the cave. Once enough height is achieved, make use of the paraglider to safely descend near the entrance. It is crucial to exercise extra caution to avoid unintentional downward slam attacks, especially if there are no additional Rocket Zonai Devices available or if the player has not saved the game beforehand.

Inside The Cave

Inside the cave, there are two Horroblins accompanied by several mineral veins and two Bomb Flowers. One of the Horroblins stands out with its unusually long fused stick weapon, which players should avoid to prevent being knocked down and expelled from the cave. The safest way to defeat this enemy is to attack it with a Bomb Flower. The resulting explosion will compel the Horroblin to drop the stick, allowing the player to seize it for themselves.

Continuing deeper into the cavern, players will come across a compact edifice housing the Phantom Helmet within its chest. In this area, it is common to spot the cave's Bubbulfrog effortlessly scaling the walls, which can be defeated without much difficulty.

After fully exploring the cave, players with a available Rocket Zonai device should make their way to the nearby pond located at coordinates (0287, -3872, 0000). Here, a Korok Cork Pull puzzle can be found in the pond, easily identifiable by its floating bobber. By attaching the Rocket to the floating cap and activating it with an attack, the cork can be pulled out, revealing a hidden Korok.
