To initiate "The Beast And The Princess," one of the twelve quests in the auxiliary narrative called "Potential Princess Sightings" within The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players must first proceed to the Gazette's headquarters near Rito Village, located at coordinates (-3253, 1763, 0119). Next, they must approach Traysi and request to become part of the team, granting them access to various stables throughout Hyrule where they can undertake quests. These missions primarily revolve around assisting Rito reporter Penn in his investigation of the missing Princess Zelda, which will be documented in the Lucky Clover Gazette. Once players have joined forces with Penn, they can embark on a series of side quests that comprise the "Potential Princess Sightings" adventure in Tears of the Kingdom, with "The Beast And The Princess" being one of them.

To initiate the designated side quest known as "The Beast And The Princess," players must make their way to the New Serenne Stable. This particular location can be located at coordinates (-1356, 0737, 0085), situated to the northwest of Lookout Landing and precisely to the west of the original whereabouts of Hyrule Castle.
Upon arrival at the stable, the player will find Penn, their partner, waiting in front of it at coordinates (-1347, 0733, 0085). Penn excitedly informs the player about a recent rumor he heard. According to the rumor, the princess has been spotted taming a massive creature with tusks in the "subtropical region in the south." To gather more information, Penn suggests that the player talk to the travelers at various stables.
However, the player only needs to visit the Lakeside Stable, which is situated at coordinates (1553, -3524, 0060) on the southeastern coast, in the West Necluda region. This stable is located just east of Faron. If the player has already discovered the Jojo-u-u Shrine, they can conveniently fast travel there to reach the stable. Alternatively, they can proceed south by crossing Floria Bridge and continue until they reach the designated coordinates.
Upon arrival at the Lakeside Stable, it is essential for the player to engage in a conversation with the proprietor, Anly. Anly, being immensely proud, holds their stable in high esteem. This pride largely emanates from the stable being chosen as a sanctuary for an entirely new animal species, which can be found in close proximity to the stable and across the ravine. In order to access the ravine, the player must proceed directly north from the stable. It is at this location that they will encounter Shay, who is visibly frustrated due to the inability to cross the ravine and witness the enchanting creatures.
To cross the ravine, the player should head in the northwest direction until they arrive at approximate coordinates (1495, -3432, 0060). This location offers the shortest distance between the two cliffs, enabling a seamless jump, glide, and climb to reach the opposite side.
Once on the opposite side of the ravine, the player must navigate their way back to the sanctuary they previously noticed. At coordinates (1538, -3359, 0058), they will come across a woman named Cima.
Cima will inform that the creatures found in the sanctuary are called Dondons, a newly discovered species known for their gentle nature. Surprisingly, Princess Zelda had been tending to them. Shortly after, Penn arrives and the player resolves the misunderstanding.
Recognizing their outstanding investigation, Penn generously rewards them with a Silver Rupee, marking the successful completion of the quest "The Beast And The Princess."
