The Legend of Hei, a Chinese animated film directed by Zhang Ping (MTJJ), was released in China in 2019. The story revolves around Luo Xiao-Hei, a cat spirit forced to roam the world after his home forest is destroyed by humans. Saved by another spirit named Fengxi, Xiao-Hei joins a group of kindred beings. However, their sanctuary is attacked by the powerful human Wuxian, who takes Xiao-Hei on a journey.
