One notable conflict in the series occurs when Sanji goes up against Kuroobi, a formidable member of the Arlong Pirates known for his incredible strength as a Fishman and his skill as a fighter. Taz Skylar provides insight into one of the most thrilling fight scenes in the One Piece live-action series.
Taz Skylar explains Sanji vs Kuroobi in One Piece live-action
The official X/Twitter account for Netflix’s One Piece live-action shares a video of Taz Skylar breaking down the fight scene between Sanji and Kuroobi.
Taz Skylar shared: “Just when you think, ‘Okay, I got this, I know how to do this,’ they put you in dress shoes with a heel, and it’s on slippery floors.”
After a quick introduction, he mentioned, "I've known Craig, who plays Zeff. He starred in my first play with me. We go way back. It meant a lot to me to work with him on this. Every movement was created by the stunt team.
"I recall watching it and thinking, 'Before you get worked up or anxious, let's stop and analyze it.' I thought, 'The first move is a kick.' We've been practicing that for six months. I can handle that part. Then you land on a table. And the table slides across the room.
"Great, now let's talk about surfing. You're no stranger to the sport, you've been doing it since you were a kid. You've got that part down. The next part is executing a mid-air front flip with a landing kick. It's similar to jumping out of a plane, a gainer flip in midair. I've got all three of these moves down pat.
I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, but everything turned out fine. The whole sequence was actually the idea of the incredible stunt team. I hope everyone will find it as awesome as I do. I've put a lot of effort into this, only to be thrown into a table like we need to do it all over again."
The actor portraying Kuroobi was a blast to work with. Thanks for tuning in, and don't forget to catch One Piece on Netflix.
