How to Unlock Character Profiles

Every Character Profile & How to Get Them

In the game Tears of the Kingdom, players can access Character Profiles on the Purah Pad. While they serve as a fun feature, reading these profiles can provide hints about how to progress in specific quest lines. Some characters will have their artwork updated based on Link's progress in the game.

Certain characters, like Princess Zelda, will be automatically unlocked without any requirements. However, characters involved in side quests, such as Hestu, will only have their profiles registered if Link actively seeks them out. There are a total of 22 Character Profiles available, and the only way to obtain each one is by completing the main quest of Tears of the Kingdom.

Upon reaching the Great Sky Island, players will receive the invaluable Purah Pad as part of the "tutorial." After successfully navigating through the island, they will have the opportunity to return to Hyrule, where they will be guided to Lookout Landing. It is at this crucial juncture that they will have the exciting chance to obtain the coveted Paraglider from Purah herself. Additionally, by striking up a conversation with Josha, they will unlock the treasured Character Profiles menu.

Character Profiles can be viewed by doing the following:

Open the map with (-).

Press the L-button to navigate to the Character Profiles.

Once Link acquires access to the Character Profiles, Princess Zelda, Purah, and Rauru will be included. Additional characters such as Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju will unlock as the main story progresses. Furthermore, characters involved in the "Regional Phenomena" quests, despite their minor role in the plot, will also have a profile available.

Every Character Profile & How to Get Them

Unveiling the Enigmatic Characters of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Players can unlock Character Profiles by encountering specific characters. Some profiles are obtained as players advance through the main questlines, such as "Tulin of Rito Village" and "Yunobo of Goron City." On the other hand, certain profiles are only accessible through side quests and adventures. Consequently, players who neglect the side content of Tears of the Kingdom may miss out on obtaining these profiles entirely.

In contrast to the other profiles, Ganondorf's Character Profile is obtained after defeating TotK for the first time. If players have been collecting Character Profiles as they progress, Ganondorf's profile will be the final one they acquire.
