Unveiling the Breathtaking Characters of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - A Visual Treat!

Discover the enchanting world of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as a player unveils the mesmerizing true forms of various characters without the iconic cel-shading coating Immerse yourself in their stunning 3D models like never before

A player of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has extracted 3D models from the game to showcase the appearance of various characters without cel-shading. By removing the iconic art style, this Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fan has uncovered the original look of numerous significant characters. It is worth mentioning that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not the first installment in the series to incorporate cel-shading; Wind Waker introduced this art style to The Legend of Zelda franchise back in 2002. In comparison to the vibrant colors in Wind Waker, Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor display a softer, pastel aesthetic. While the world of Hyrule and its inhabitants in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom utilize cel-shading to offer a wider range of colors, this fan has taken a closer look at the characters in their unaltered form.

Reddit user Bad-news-co recently shared images of various characters from the game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom standing in a T-pose without their cel-shaded coating. The screenshots mainly feature prominent characters like Purah, Link (bald), Queen Sonia, Rauru, a Goron, Paya, Tulin, Teba, the Great Fairy, Ganondorf, Riju, and two forms of Princess Zelda. In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, these NPCs play important roles in the game's story.

Removing the cel-shading changes the appearance of each character in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Without the cel-shading, the designs become less realistic and their eyes become just white or black in some cases. However, despite these changes, most characters are still recognizable from their original designs in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Gerudo and Great Fairy, though, have more distinct alterations compared to their appearances in the open-world game. The Gerudo's abs, for example, are not directly a part of the character model but are instead created through the cel-shading technique. Additionally, the Great Fairy has a mermaid-like tail instead of legs. Tulin, Teba, and Rauru experience the least alteration in their appearances due to the careful attention to detail in their original models.

Most respondents to Bad-news-co expressed a preference for the cel-shading art style of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom characters. However, some also appreciated their aesthetic without it. Although Tears of the Kingdom has received mods for a first-person perspective and randomizing, it remains uncertain if a mod will be developed to eliminate the cel-shading. The game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is currently accessible for Nintendo Switch users.
