A Pokemon fan has created new Paradox forms for Gengar and Honedge, offering a glimpse of how these creatures might appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These Paradox forms share similarities with their regular Pokemon counterparts, but possess different abilities and types within the game.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the latest installment in the mainline Pokemon series and the fourth pair of titles for the Nintendo Switch. The game's protagonist moves to Cabo Village in the Paldea region and begins their new school life at a nearby academy. After choosing a starter Pokemon, players embark on a journey to achieve Champion Rank. Throughout the main storyline of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players will encounter legendary Paradox Pokemon, Koraidon and Miraidon, depending on the game version. Additionally, more Paradox Pokemon can be encountered while exploring the Paldea region.

Pokemon fan HertzBurst recently created concept designs for Paradox forms of Gengar and Honedge. The Paradox Gengar, known as Iron Fright, is a futuristic and technologically advanced variation of the original Gengar. However, unlike the original Ghost and Poison-type Gengar, Iron Fright is a Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon. Honedge's fan-made concept design, named Iron Blade, is a futuristic and mechanical Paradox Pokemon with a different type than the original Pokemon. Instead of being a Steel and Ghost-type, Iron Blade is a Ghost and Electric-type Pokemon, inspired by an electrically-charged weapon from the future.

In the Pokemon games Scarlet and Violet, Paradox Pokemon cannot evolve or breed, and their origins are shrouded in mystery, tied to the enigmatic Area Zero location in the center of the Paldea region. While Paradox Pokemon bear resemblance to the original Pokemon, their designs are based on ancient ancestors and future descendants of the Pokemon. Moreover, Paradox Pokemon deviate from the usual naming conventions and are given nicknames that reference their appearance and place of discovery. For instance, the Paradox version of Donphan is referred to as "Great Tusk" due to its massive tusks.

The new Paradox forms of Gengar and Honedge not only maintain key traits from their original designs created by The Pokemon Company but also possess a unique and visually appealing aesthetic. Paradox Gengar continues to embody its mischievous nature, while Paradox Honedge retains its distinctive appearance as a floating blade with a lengthy tail.

While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC is set to introduce new Pokemon, it remains uncertain whether Gengar and Honedge will receive these new Paradox forms. The first DLC pack, titled The Teal Mask, is scheduled for release in the fall of 2023, followed by The Indigo Disk DLC pack in the winter.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
