During events like FanFest and the Tokyo Game Show, Naoki Yoshida, the game director and producer, provided players with glimpses of the content that will be available in Patch 6.5, starting on Tuesday, October 3. However, not all the content revealed by Yoshida will be immediately accessible. The main story for Growing Light will be divided into two parts, with the first part arriving in Patch 6.5. Starting from Patch 6.5, players of Final Fantasy 14 who are on the free trial or have the Starter Edition will now have access to content from the Stormblood expansion. Nevertheless, with two expansions' worth of content now available, the updated free trial of Final Fantasy 14 is expected to attract a significant increase in player numbers. To address potential congestion issues, Square Enix will be implementing new measures in Patch 6.5 and future updates.
