The conflict between Jamie and Beth in Yellowstone season 5 needs to be resolved. There is a high possibility of John Dutton being impeached as governor, creating an opportunity for Jamie to potentially assume the role of governor.
The fates of Rip, Kayce, and Monica, among others, remain uncertain and their storylines must be satisfactorily resolved before the conclusion of Yellowstone. With season 5 coming to an end, there are numerous questions to be answered and loose ends to be tied up. It is likely that if Kevin Costner hadn't abruptly left the show, there would have been at least one more season, considering the ongoing storylines in the first half of season 5. However, with Costner no longer under contract, the second half of season 5 will continue without him.
10 Will Jamie and Beth’s Conflict End in Bloodshed?
: Unresolved Storylines: What the Second Part of Yellowstone Season 5 Must AddressThroughout four and a half seasons, viewers have been acquainted with the backstory that sparked a deep-rooted hostility between Beth and Jamie Dutton, witnessing the animosity intensify until it ultimately reached a boiling point in the mid-season finale of season 5. Manipulated by the conniving Sarah Atwood, Jamie delved into the possibility of permanently putting an end to his sister's treacherous ways, particularly after she posed a threat to his son's life. Beth, equally inclined, appears determined to bring the conflict to a conclusive resolution. Whether this resolution manifests through reconciliation or violence remains to be seen in Yellowstone season 5.
9 Will Jamie Go Back to His Family?
One potential solution may be for Jamie to step up and assist his family. With his position as the acting Attorney General, he possesses enough power and intelligence to manipulate the law in order to protect the Yellowstone Ranch. However, in order to do so, he would have to break ties with Sarah Atwood, which may make him a target and add further complications. Alternatively, he could choose to help his family outside of the legal system, a gesture that could convince Beth of his pure intentions following his previous threat. The resolution of Jamie's internal conflict must occur before Yellowstone reaches its conclusion.
8 Will John Be Impeached As Governor?
When season 5 of Yellowstone concluded, Jamie made a recommendation to the state's general assembly regarding the impeachment of John as governor. This action was prompted by John's misuse of his authority in order to control the usage of his land. As a result of John's tactics, the state suffered potential financial losses amounting to millions of dollars. John's lack of interest in governing the state during his time as governor makes it highly likely that the impeachment will succeed. Should this be the case, Jamie has a clear opportunity to assume the role of governor himself.
7 Will Senator Perry Step In With the Broken Rock Pipeline?
While Lynelle Perry previously advocated for John Dutton and his interests during her tenure as governor in Yellowstone, her role as senator now demands that she confront a fresh array of challenges on behalf of Montana and its residents. Among those residents are individuals from the Broken Rock Reservation, who currently face the looming threat of a pipeline slated to traverse the Reservation, particularly its reservoir. Already proactive in notifying Thomas Rainwater about the pipeline, Senator Perry may find herself compelled to personally engage in the battle, potentially taking the fight to Washington in order to halt the construction of the pipeline.
6 Will Thomas Rainwater Get Ousted As the Broken Rock Reservation Chairman?
Thomas Rainwater's grip on power may soon weaken as he faces an imminent threat from Angela Blue Thunder. Rainwater had enlisted Blue Thunder, a shrewd business consultant, to contest Market Equities' encroachment on the Reservation. However, Blue Thunder's intentions go beyond this battle, as she aims to replace Rainwater as Chairman of the Broken Rock Reservation. Her criticism stems from Rainwater's perceived inability to safeguard and expand the Reservation's territory. The ongoing fight against the pipeline could either bring these foes together or mark Rainwater's downfall, finally stripping him of his position.
5 Will Kayce and Monica Take Over the Ranch Permanently?
Despite numerous attempts to finally escape from the ranch, Kayce and Monica Dutton, in Yellowstone season 5, agreed to oversee the ranch while John served as governor and Rip led the herd to Texas to avoid a brucellosis outbreak. Although Kayce had previously been offered a position as a Special Investigator on the Broken Rock Reservation, indicating a potential path for him, Monica, and Tate to permanently leave the ranch, the forthcoming episodes of the second half of season 5 will reveal which direction Kayce and Monica ultimately choose. This becomes particularly crucial as Kayce strives to avert the devastating future he witnessed in his season 4 finale vision.
4 Does Rip Survive Season 5, Part 2?
Regarding premonitions, Rip has explicitly mentioned that his death would occur on the ranch, creating a sense of foreshadowing on various occasions. As the primary enforcer of John Dutton's wishes and leader of his trusted men, Rip's unwavering loyalty may ultimately lead to his demise. Rip's passing would carry substantial emotional weight due to his immense popularity on the show, and it aligns perfectly with his character development to die while defending the ranch or the Dutton family. Although his immense fan following makes him a natural choice for the Yellowstone sequel series, the tragic inevitability of his death in season 5 cannot be ignored.
3 Will Any of the Ranchers Get a Happy Ending?
Some of the most memorable moments in Yellowstone have been provided by the supporting cast, especially the group of cowboys working on the Yellowstone ranch. Throughout the series, numerous romances have ignited, although they don't always result in a happy ending. Unfortunately, Lloyd has already experienced a broken heart once. The mid-season finale of season 5 put Teeter and Colby's budding relationship to the test through separation. Moreover, Ryan ended his relationship with Abby (portrayed by country music artist Lainey Wilson) to pursue his dream of ranching in Texas. It is hoped that season 5 will bring some happiness to these cowboys, allowing them to ride off into the sunset with contentment.
2 Does John Survive Season 5, Part 2?
With Kevin Costner's departure from Yellowstone in season 5's latter half, the burning question remains: what ultimately happens to John Dutton's character? Given the show's gritty nature, a violent demise seems plausible; however, nothing has been officially confirmed regarding John's fate. Interestingly, a potential solution for the writers could be to separate John from the main storyline while keeping him alive for a potential comeback, especially with a sequel series in the works. Perhaps depicting him fully dedicated to his role as governor or embarking on a quest to seek medical treatment for his cancer would not only align with the narrative, but also set the stage for a gripping return.
1 Will Tate Fulfill 1883’s Prophecy?
Many Yellowstone fans feel that the conclusion of its prequel, 1883, somewhat spoiled the ending of the show. In the finale, James Dutton, the original founder of the Yellowstone ranch, reaches an agreement with the Crow Native Americans of Paradise Valley. They allow him to establish his homestead there, with the condition that their descendants will reclaim the land in seven generations.
The seventh generation of the Dutton family would be represented by Tate, the son of Kayce. Interestingly, this creates an opportunity for the Crow chief's prophecy to come true while the Duttons still own the ranch. Tate is of mixed Native American heritage, and his mother has lived on the Broken Rock Reservation her whole life. In theory, if Tate were to inherit the ranch, the prophecy could be fulfilled—the land would return to its original inhabitants. Even if things don't unfold exactly like this, the prophecy should be addressed in some way during season 5.
