Charli XCX and The 1975’s George Daniel's professional relationship blossomed into a romantic connection, with rumors swirling after working together on the song "Spinning" in March 2021. Daniel also contributed to Charli XCX's Crash album, released in March 2022, leading to the couple being photographed holding hands during a romantic outing in New York City.
Charli went public with her relationship with The 1975 drummer in May of that year by sharing an Instagram photo. He has made rare appearances on her social media since then. Daniel, on the other hand, is not very active on social media, so posts of Charli on his pages are infrequent.
Although their relationship is low-key, Charli briefly mentioned how being with Daniel has influenced her approach to making music.

After the engagement announcement, Daniel’s bandmate Matty Healy left a touching comment in response to their love, saying, “I cry.”
