Matty Healy's Shocking Revelation: Regretting Past Controversial Remarks at The 1975 Concert!

The 1975 lead singer, Matty Healy, openly acknowledges and expresses regret for his past controversial remarks during a recent concert

During the 1975's concert in London in 1975, lead singer Matty Healy briefly addressed the consequences of his past controversies. Healy, who is now 34 years old, acknowledged that he had made mistakes while experimenting with different things. He expressed regret for some of the things he had said and jokes he had made, admitting that there might even be a couple of songs he would like to retract if given the opportunity.

He expressed his intention to bring laughter and joy through his work, emphasizing that it is what his favorite art accomplishes and what he aims to achieve. He also mentioned feeling proud of himself and acknowledged that he gets enthusiastic about sharing his emotions because he does not take things for granted.

Healy has often gained attention for expressing his controversial opinions over the years, although he did not specify the particular incidents he regrets. In February, Healy faced criticism for mocking Ice Spice on "The Adam Friedland Show." Notably, Ice Spice has collaborated with Taylor Swift on a remixed version of "Karma," with whom Healy had a brief relationship in May.

The singer of "Robbers" publicly apologized to Ice Spice, 23, later that month. He expressed remorse for any offense caused and apologized for any misconstrued jokes. The apology was shared through his Instagram Story, where he also assured Ice Spice that he didn't want them to have a negative opinion of him. He conveyed his love for Ice Spice and expressed deep apologies. It should be noted that Ice Spice has not made any public comments regarding Healy's statements. Additionally, during the same podcast interview, Healy confessed to watching pornography that depicted the brutal degradation of women of color.

In a May profile published in The New Yorker, the musician played down his remarks regarding the scandal.

According to Healy, it's highly unlikely that someone would be so affected by his actions that they would share their distress with their partner. He believes that if such a scenario were to occur, the person would either be deluded or dishonest about their emotional state. Healy considers it a demonstration of shallowness when people eagerly gravitate towards negativity, showcasing their supposed virtuousness. Despite his thoughts on the matter, he welcomes such behavior as it reveals a fundamental aspect of human nature.

One month prior in April, during one of his band's performances, Healy confessed to feeling "embarrassed" about his previous remarks.

"I have to admit, seeing a sign that said 'Matty, I hope you're okay' made me feel a bit guilty because it made me realize that I've been acting irresponsibly," he stated during an April show. "It's easy for me to say that I don't grasp how famous I am or that I dislike being famous. But the truth is, fame is a reality, and I acknowledge that I've made some questionable statements or turned everything into a joke. That's just my nature. However, I have also recognized that there are instances when I take it too far, especially in front of a large audience."

Healy ignited a romance with Swift, 33, amidst the controversies. They were previously connected in 2014. In June, it was confirmed that they ended their relationship less than a month after it began, with a source mentioning that they were never deeply involved.
