In addition to two new areas, Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 introduces a variety of new Elite enemies to conquer. Beating The Ascended in Honkai: Star Rail becomes easier when players focus on her Siphon skill. While facing this open-world boss, players must also confront two Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius. However, in the Desolate Depths of Despair mission, the boss is accompanied by one Ballistarius and one Internal Alchemist instead.

In Honkai: Star Rail, unlike the majority of minions, the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius have a Toughness of 90, making them slightly more challenging to defeat. Fortunately, their attacks are not lethal, as they only deal random Lightning damage. Furthermore, unlike the Mara-Struck monsters, they do not have the ability to revive.
As for The Ascended, her moves primarily consist of damaging skills, targeting either a single, random, or three targets. It is important to mention that her attacks also apply Wind Shear.
Meanwhile, the boss possesses a unique ability known as the "Japa" state. Should players be unsuccessful in defeating or restraining the enemy, the boss will unleash a skill called Siphoning HP, resulting in a 30% reduction in maximum recoverable HP.
If a character's HP falls to 70% or below, they will only experience a decrease in their maximum recoverable HP. However, if a character has more than 70% HP, they will suffer a reduction in HP as well as the aforementioned blockade. It is important to note that while this skill targets all characters, it still has a chance to miss certain units.
