Launched on September 18, 2020, Phasmophobia initially gained massive success with over 112,000 concurrent players. While its player base has fluctuated with each update, it still maintains a peak of around 22,000 concurrent players daily. Despite the original plan for a full launch by now, Kinetic Games' ambition has grown alongside the game's success.

Phasmophobia's largest update to date is set to launch on August 17. Kinetic announced the release date for the Ascension update through their social media accounts and Steam profile for Phasmophobia.
