A Pokemon fan created a Paradox form of Terrakion and received praise for their effort.
Terrakion, also known as "Rugged Horns," is a Pokemon that possesses both Rock and Dragon types, taking inspiration from the Carnotaurus dinosaur.
While Terrakion and the rest of the Swords of Justice are yet to make an appearance in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, devoted fans persistently create Paradox variations for these Legendary Pokemon.
A Pokemon enthusiast took the initiative and created a unique version of Terrakion, one of the esteemed Legendary Swords of Justice from the Unova region. They proudly shared their creation on social media and received commendation for their efforts. The artist also revealed their motivation behind crafting a Paradox Terrakion.
Terrakion, popularly known as the Cavern Pokemon, possesses a formidable blend of Rock and Fighting types. It is a prominent member of the Swords of Justice, a group that includes Cobalion, Virizion, and Keldeo. Drawing inspiration from The Three Musketeers, trainers often refer to Terrakion as the "Porthos" of the quartet, owing to its impressive stature and physical prowess. Having access to powerful moves like Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Stone Edge, and Earthquake, Terrakion has enjoyed a prominent role in competitive Pokemon battles in the past. Unfortunately, as of the present, Terrakion and its fellow Swords of Justice have yet to be added to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through Pokemon Home. Nevertheless, this hasn't deterred a creative trainer from envisioning what a Paradox Terrakion could potentially look like.
A Reddit user named El-psy-congroo-01 recently shared their design of a Paradox form of Terrakion as part of an art commission. This new concept, called "Rugged Horns," transforms Terrakion into a Rock and Dragon type Pokemon that would hypothetically exist in Pokemon Scarlet. Unlike Terrakion, which is a quadruped, Rugged Horns is a bipedal Pokemon inspired by the late Cretaceous dinosaur known as the Carnotaurus. The OP maintained the original gray, brown, and black color scheme of Terrakion while adding orange and red accents to the spikes and horns. These modifications also carried over to Rugged Horns' shiny version. With its powerful jaw and the Protosynthesis ability, Rugged Horns likely possesses the same physical prowess that made Terrakion one of the top Pokemon in the Unova region.
Within a few hours, El-psy-congroo-01's post on r/pokemon received over 300 upvotes. In the comments section, another user named Mathias_Greyjoy revealed themselves as the OP's client and friend. They expressed gratitude to the OP for designing Rugged Horns as part of a Paradox Pokemon fan project. While the creation of Paradox forms for Legendary Pokemon remains a popular trend among Pokemon fan artists, only time will reveal how long this trend will persist.
The future of the Pokemon franchise is still uncertain as we approach the August 8 edition of Pokemon Presents. It remains unknown whether Terrakion and the Swords of Justice will make an appearance in the upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Nintendo Switch users can currently access Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
