A talented Pokemon fan has given Dragapult a creative makeover, transforming it into a Normal-type Pokemon and emphasizing its ability to launch Dreepies from its head.
The artist dubbed the redesigned creature as "Dragasling" and introduced a new move known as Dragon Shot, a slingshot attack that unfailingly inflicts a critical hit.
In addition to the revamp, the artist also crafted a glistening variant of Dragasling, featuring a tanned physique and golden horns.
A talented Pokemon fan has recently made a remarkable transformation of Dragapult into a Normal-type creature. This impressive feat adds to the numerous remarkable redesigns that the Pokemon fandom has created since the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield in 2019.
In the eighth generation of Pokemon games, a total of 89 new pocket monsters were introduced. Among them is the evolutionary line featuring Dreepy, Drakloak, and Dragapult. These three creatures are especially noteworthy for their Dragon/Ghost typing, a unique combination only shared by one other creature in the entire franchise - Giratina from the influential fourth generation of Pokemon games.
For a creative challenge, YouTuber JJonnyDraws decided to give Dragapult a major transformation. Instead of its usual uncommon typing, it was turned into a Dragon and Normal-type Pokemon. The decision for this new typing was made randomly, as is the creator's tradition. After the digital wheel picked Normal type, JJonnyDraws crafted an original concept that emphasized Dragapult's unique ability to launch offspring from its head like a catapult. The artist transformed Dragapult's horns into a large slingshot, which the Pokemon operated using its tail to shoot out Dreepies.
To highlight the central idea of the redesign, the artist named the reimagined creature "Dragasling." Alongside this, they created a new move called Dragon Shot that perfectly suited Dragasling. Dragon Shot is described as a slingshot attack that guarantees a critical hit. While the artist often incorporates existing moves into their reimaginations, Dragon Shot is an entirely original invention and does not exist in any Pokemon game. Additionally, JJonnyDraws mentioned that Dragasling possesses the ability Parental Bond, typically associated with Kangaskhan. This ability allows both the Pokemon and its child to attack simultaneously.
In a remarkable turn of events, the artist has unveiled a magnificent variant of Dragasling. This extraordinary rendition showcases a stunning tanned hue, replacing the previous teal complexion, and is further accentuated by resplendent golden horns. Notably, although the innovative re-imaginations by the YouTuber frequently introduce groundbreaking Pokemon typings, the combination of Normal and Dragon has previously been explored by Game Freak, exemplified by the presence of Drampa in the Generation 7 games.
This is far from the first unique pocket monster redesign that JJonnyDraws authored to date; just several weeks ago, the same artist turned Pikachu into a Bug-type Pokemon.
