The boss fight with Iridikron in World of Warcraft may not live up to the immense power and malevolence attributed to the Primal Incarnate, potentially leading to disappointment among players. The fight that Iridikron engages in the Dawn of the Infinites mega-dungeon does not result in his demise. Instead, it merely serves as a temporary delay, which undermines the importance of his character.
It is conceivable that Iridikron might confront players once more in a raid. However, the prior encounter within the dungeon diminishes the thrill and sense of mystery surrounding this potential meeting.
In World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, a range of new foes has been introduced, including Primal Incarnates, wayward shamans, and Infinite dragons. The battles to protect Azeroth have required the collective efforts of countless brave warriors. However, there is one villain in the World of Warcraft universe that may not live up to expectations.
Among these new adversaries, the Primal Incarnates, particularly Iridikron, have proven to be the most formidable and influential. As the Incarnate of Earth, Iridikron openly admits that his primary motive is to bring about the end of the world, unlike his siblings. He harbors an intense desire for revenge against the Titans themselves, holding them accountable for their past transgressions. Iridikron remains relentless in his quest to unleash his wrath upon Azeroth, sparing no effort.
Iridikron's Boss Fight in World of Warcraft Doesn't Live Up to the Hype Surrounding Him
Iridikron may have had grand schemes, but he is actually the second Primal Incarnate to appear as a boss. The final encounter in Dragonflight's first raid featured the youngest of the four elemental proto-drakes, Raszageth. Her battle was on an epic scale, befitting a formidable foe, and she can be seen in various cinematics unleashing chaotic elemental energy upon other dragons.
In contrast, Iridikron's older brother found himself pitted against players in the intense mega-dungeon known as Dawn of the Infinites. The fight against Iridikron is filled with mechanics that pose instant death to players if they are not in the right place. However, this battle does not result in the proto-dragon's demise but rather serves as a temporary delay. It seems rather underwhelming for the esteemed Iridikron, who has also had numerous ominous moments captured on film.
There is a possibility that Iridikron will engage in a raid battle with players once again. However, the previous encounter in Dawn of the Infinites has reduced the excitement surrounding this potential event. Iridikron is renowned as the most formidable and malicious among his siblings, and it is imperative to stop him. Nevertheless, players may start questioning whether they will be tasked with defeating him once more.
Players were captivated by the concept of battling a colossal proto-drake equipped with the abilities of earth and stone. Yet, this allure has diminished due to a prior dungeon encounter. Now, players can only hope to face Fyrakk, the Flame Incarnate, or his sister Vyranoth, the Ice Incarnate, and experience the same level of spectacle they had imagined.
World of Warcraft excels in creating immersive and monumental boss fights that truly capture a sense of scale and impending doom. These epic encounters will undoubtedly prove advantageous for future raids involving the Primal Incarnates, particularly when facing the rumored expansion's ultimate boss, Galakrond. Currently, there is the luxury of choice in determining which villains will be featured in upcoming raids, so Iridikron may need to take a backseat and allow his siblings to showcase their power.
In the event that Iridikron does not ultimately serve as a final boss, the potential disappointment could be alleviated by providing him with a fitting farewell through alternative means. This could involve a dramatic clash with another character leading to a climactic showdown or a treacherous betrayal orchestrated by his allies portrayed in a stunning cinematic display. Alternatively, one of the Primal Incarnates could opt to join the opposing side, thereby creating more opportunities for players to engage in intense one-on-one battles with the final two Incarnates. However, it seems improbable that anyone other than Vyranoth would consider such a betrayal, as her true motives appear to diverge from evil intentions.
In an alternative approach, the boss battle against Iridikron could be merged with that of another antagonist. While it is not a common occurrence, it is not unheard of for a final boss to consist of multiple adversaries. However, this comes with its own set of challenges, as players tend to dislike boss fights that are overly time-consuming and complex. Regardless of the chosen method, one can only hope that Iridikron lives up to the anticipation and solidifies his place as one of the most formidable threats in Azeroth's history.
