Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers a vast open world filled with danger, making exploration a challenging task for Link. The combination of towering mountains and harsh weather conditions adds to the difficulty of navigating the map. However, the game provides various methods for overcoming these obstacles. Link can cook meals that grant temporary stat boosts, such as increased stamina or resistance to extreme temperatures. Additionally, there are armor sets scattered throughout Hyrule that are specifically designed to assist in exploration. While some offer permanent immunity to freezing or burning temperatures, the Zora Armor stands out as particularly helpful in making exploration easier. The success of Breath of the Wild was largely due to its focus on exploration, and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues this tradition. The game's expansive and detailed map is brimming with hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. While there are innovative mechanics like the Ultrahand ability, players will initially find themselves eager to explore the vast world of Hyrule. However, even after obtaining the paraglider, Link still faces challenges posed by the unforgiving terrain spread across the map.
The Zora Armor is Essential For Exploration
Climbing and gliding using the paraglider require stamina, which may be insufficient for large climbs or long-distance gliding until players solve some of the game's 152 shrine puzzles. However, players can find alternative methods to reach higher altitudes by utilizing Link's other abilities or utilizing the new zonai devices from Tears of the Kingdom, offering endless possibilities. For a more traditional approach, players can obtain the Zora armor by heading to Zora's domain in the southeast of Hyrule. This armor not only enhances Link's swimming speed but also allows him to ascend waterfalls, which are scattered throughout the game's map. Obtaining the Zora armor is a relatively simple task and can be done early on in the game.
Upon arriving at Zora's Domain in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link realizes that his armor has been damaged by the dark magic spreading throughout Hyrule. Lady Yona, who is engaged to Prince Sidon, offers to repair the armor but requires a rare Arowana fish. Luckily, these fish can be found near Mipha's Statue on Ploymus Mountain. After retrieving the Arowana fish, Link returns to Lady Yona, who repairs his armor and presents it to him as a helpful tool for his quest.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues to captivate gamers worldwide with its unparalleled sense of freedom, and players will continue to explore Hyrule for hidden secrets long after completing the game. Despite the Nintendo Switch's older technology compared to current-generation consoles, Link once again demonstrates his ability to excel against his adversaries.
