Unleashing the Power: Demystifying Master Sword's Recharge in Zelda

Discover the secret to perpetual power in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! Learn how to recharge the unbreakable Master Sword and obtain this legendary weapon in your quest

Upon obtaining the renowned Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will possess the sole indestructible weapon in the game. The Master Sword has endured through the ages and is renowned as the ultimate weapon that Link wields to vanquish the final boss in each Zelda game, predominantly Ganondorf.

According to its in-game description, the Master Sword is hailed as "the mythical blade that banishes the darkness. Its corruption was purified during its encounters with the Light Dragon. It radiates with a divine brilliance that can stand against the Demon King."

However, although the Master Sword cannot break, TotK players might need to learn how to recharge it, as it cannot be used repeatedly without taking a rest first.

Over time, a message will appear on-screen indicating that the Master Sword's energy is running low, serving as a warning to players. If the sword continues to be used despite this message, it will eventually "break." However, after approximately ten minutes of recharging, the Master Sword will return to Link. Although it will initially disappear from the weapon hotbar, players can access it by opening the menu with the + button and navigating to the Weapons section. Here, a timer will indicate the remaining duration until the sword can be wielded again.

How to Get the Master Sword in TotK

There are three ways to get the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom:

The first way is to head inside the Depths underneath the Great Deku Tree in Korok Forest.

The second way is to view all the Memories by locating all 12 Tears from the Glyphs (Impa's Questline).

Find the Light Dragon and pull the sword from its head.

To extract the sword from the dragon, players must have two complete stamina wheels; otherwise, Link lacks the necessary strength to accomplish the task.
