A dedicated fan of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has constructed a remarkable contraption resembling a soaring dragon. With the introduction of a multitude of new abilities and tools, Tears of the Kingdom allows players to tackle any challenge by constructing a device capable of overcoming any obstacle thrown their way. In the case of the flying dragon contraption, players can unleash their wild and imaginative side by simply creating because they have the means to do so.
This feat is made possible in Tears of the Kingdom through the inclusion of an early game feature called Ultrahand. Ultrahand grants Link the power to lift nearly any object within the game and then attach it to another. By utilizing Zonai devices, ancient artifacts left behind by a civilization that holds significant importance in the game's storyline, players possess the freedom to construct virtually anything, be it lethal mechs or even an iconic X-Wing fighter from the Star Wars universe.
A player named GoneRad created a mechanical flying dragon as a playful mockery of the real dragons in Hyrule. They shared a video of their impressive flying machine alongside the fire dragon Dinraal on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit. In the video, GoneRad's dragon gracefully flies beside Dinraal, imitating the majestic slithering motion of the dragon with its own unique and jerky movement.
GoneRad's dragon is composed mostly of Zonai Fans connected at various angles to provide the dragon-like movement. The device features two sets of "wings" at the front for stability and propulsion. In the comments, GoneRad explains that achieving the signature dragon-like movement required more than just positioning the fans at different angles. They strategically incorporated two Zonai Portable Pots within the body, acting as joints and allowing for slight bending of the connected sections. To add an extra touch of realism, GoneRad also attached some Shards of Dinraal's Spike to the body and placed a Zonai Flame Emitter at the front to simulate Dinraal's fiery breath.
Players can unleash their creativity with the limitless toolset provided by Tears of the Kingdom. From crafting basic transportation devices to showcasing impressive feats such as self-propelled space elevators utilizing a clever system of rockets on a conveyor belt, the possibilities are boundless. The only limitation lies in the player's imagination, although having an engineering degree may give an added advantage.
