Players of Tears of the Kingdom are demonstrating their remarkable engineering prowess through the development of awe-inspiring aircraft influenced by beloved franchises such as Star Wars. The most recent innovation, crafted by Reddit user JanewayForPresident, takes inspiration from the iconic N-1 Naboo Starfighter and incorporates elusive components sourced from the bountiful Gerudo Highlands region.
The aircraft's usage is restricted by a despawn timer of only 60 seconds, but a recent discovery in Tears of the Kingdom presents a potential solution to extend its duration.
A devoted player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, who also happens to be a fan of Star Wars, utilized Link's Ultrahand ability ingeniously. They designed a remarkable aircraft that drew inspiration from The Mandalorian's N-1 Naboo Starfighter. This impressive engineering accomplishment quickly gained popularity on social media platforms, following another player's creation of the Super Mario Bros. 3 theme song using Tears of the Kingdom's building mechanics.
On May 12th, the new Zelda game was released, bringing a wave of impressive community creations that utilized Tears of the Kingdom's Ultrahand ability. Among these fan-made designs, a particular focus has been on aircraft, as they are incredibly versatile in Tears of the Kingdom.
One noteworthy creation comes from Reddit user JanewayForPresident, who dedicated their time to crafting an aircraft inspired by The Mandalorian series' N-1 Naboo Starfighter. Renowned for its power, the N-1 Naboo Starfighter is considered one of the most formidable starfighters in the Star Wars universe. JanewayForPresident's creation stands out due to its incorporation of rare parts, such as the metal barrels exclusively found in the Rotsumamu shrine within the Gerudo Highlands region.
JanewayForPresident included three pristine Throwing Spears in the design to closely resemble the original N-1 Naboo Starfighter. Although these weapons can only be obtained in the depths of Tears of the Kingdom, alternative types of spears would also work well with the build. The aircraft is composed of a Zonai Wing, two Sleds, a Steering Stick, and a Construct Head.
With just over a dozen components, this N-1 Naboo Starfighter-inspired machine has the potential to accommodate additional weaponry. To provide context, in Tears of the Kingdom, players can connect up to 21 parts before their constructions become unstable.
The main drawback of this newly shared aircraft is that its central piece has a despawn timer set at 60 seconds, limiting its duration in the air. The creator acknowledged this flaw and explained that they initially aimed to avoid using a Zonai Wing, but failed to find a similar-looking alternative that resembled the N-1 Naboo Starfighter. Additionally, a recently uncovered trick in Tears of the Kingdom, known as the Tears of the Kingdom trick, can prevent Zonai Wings from disappearing and potentially prolong the usability of this aircraft. However, implementing this technique in practice is quite inconvenient. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available on Nintendo Switch.
