A devoted fan of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has accomplished the impressive feat of completing the first four temples without using the paraglider. Their accomplishment was shared online, causing a stir among the game's fandom and even drawing the attention of a popular Tears of the Kingdom character.
Unlike in Breath of the Wild, where Link cannot progress without obtaining the paraglider in the tutorial area, Tears of the Kingdom does not feature the flying tool in its initial hours. To obtain the paraglider, players must first complete the extensive tutorial sequence and then continue with the main quest for another half hour or so. This means that even experienced Breath of the Wild players who dive into the new game headfirst may not immediately realize if and when the paraglider makes a comeback.
Chris Brune recently took to Reddit to share their impressive accomplishment of beating the first four temples in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom without the use of the paraglider. It wasn't until Brune found themselves in a balloon at the end of an early-game quest that they discovered the flying utility. Despite this, Brune decided to only seek out the paraglider when absolutely necessary, which never happened before completing the game's first four temples. However, this achievement was not an easy feat. Brune and their roommate spent hours testing various flying methods to overcome the absence of the paraglider, with the Wind Temple presenting the most significant challenge due to its predominantly airborne challenges.
Upon obtaining the paraglider to access Link's camera, Brune stumbled upon a surprising reward for mastering the first four dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom without relying on this essential tool. Purah's dialogue reveals her admiration for those who demonstrate resourcefulness by successfully completing the Regional Phenomena quest prior to obtaining the paraglider. The game is currently accessible on the Nintendo Switch platform.
