Players can save their progress before breaking a glittering ore deposit and reload the game if they don't receive the desired gem.

Another way to acquire gems is by visiting TOTK's Dondon Sanctuary and offering Luminous Stones to the Dondons. The Dondons will trade gems in return, which is a simple method to exchange low-value stones for high-value gems.

Defeating a Stone Talus is an alternative way to acquire Rubies. The drops from this enemy are similar to that of an Ore Deposit, but with the added bonus of a Stone Talus Heart and a larger quantity of gems. For players who are confident in their combat skills, seeking out a Stone Talus can be a rewarding endeavor.

Uses for Rubies

Rubies possess the innate power of fire, which makes them perfect for Fuse enhancements on weapons. When attached to a weapon, Rubies enable the user to hurl fiery projectiles towards their enemies. Additionally, a single Ruby arrow can cause a massive explosion on impact, making it a lethal tool against large groups of foes. In TOTK, Rubies are highly valued and can be sold for a considerable amount of Rupees. Players can sell them in packs of 10 to Ramella in Goron City for a larger profit, especially when she is looking for them as part of her inventory. Moreover, Rubies serve as valuable upgrade materials for several armor pieces.
