Hexworks and CI Games have released the latest update for Lords of the Fallen, which aims to address various issues and bugs. This update includes requested tweaks for New Game Plus, as well as continued post-launch support from the developers. While the game has received positive feedback, the initial launch did not meet players' expectations. In addition to Crossplay problems, players encountered issues with saving, game balance, and performance on the PC version, such as stuttering and input lag. Nevertheless, the studio remains committed to resolving these issues, with the latest update focusing on addressing community feedback.

Lords of the Fallen's latest update, version 1.1.224, focuses on addressing important community concerns. One of the main requests from players was regarding the Vestiges system, or the game's checkpoint system. With this update, players now have the choice to either progress to the next new game world or replay the current world, while retaining the same difficulty, character, progression, and items. NPCs and quests will be reset, but the Vestiges will gradually be removed as players move up the new game ladder.

Additionally, the update tackles the "Leashing" system for enemies, where enemies will no longer relentlessly pursue players and instead have a limit to how far they can chase them from their initial spawn area. Crowd behavior is also being adjusted, reducing instances of enemies overwhelming players and lowering the number of enemies in areas that players find difficult. However, it's important to note that in NG+, the enemy numbers will return to normal, providing a more challenging experience for players.

Hexworks has made some updates to the recently disabled Crossplay feature for Lords of the Fallen. They are seeing a decline in affected numbers and will issue updates with this patch and another later in the week. Hexworks is also collaborating with partners like NVIDIA, AMD, and Epic to address active issues.

Furthermore, Hexworks has addressed other reported issues such as corrupted saves or lost game progression. They have established a dedicated team for players to send their corrupted saves and downgraded characters to. The team will then provide the save files with the necessary vigor to restore characters to their previous level. The post provides detailed steps for players to locate their save file based on the specific issue they have encountered.

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.1.224 Patch Notes

NG+

Added a new NG+ option that resets the game world, allowing you to restart with your current character level in the same world.

Enemy Density

We have enhanced the leashing system, enabling enemies to cease their pursuit once a specific distance is reached (which may vary depending on the situation). This feature prevents a flood of enemies from overwhelming you when quickly traversing through a section of the map.

Visuals

Fixed fog card artifacts in locations like the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers chapterhouse when Frame Generation was enabled.

Lords of the Fallen is out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
