The action RPG game Lords of the Fallen will take approximately 25 to 30+ hours to complete in a single playthrough, but it also offers a New Game+ mode for replayability.
In Lords of the Fallen, players are introduced to a distinctive gameplay mechanic. When a character dies, they are transported to the realm of the deceased known as Umbra. To regain their experience points, they must venture back into the world of the living.
Moreover, this game presents players with the option to choose from various classes and factions which, in turn, determine the possible outcomes and endings. With a selection of ten initial classes and the possibility of additional ones in future updates, Lords of the Fallen aims to promote diverse playstyles and encourage multiple playthroughs.
Lords of the Fallen developers have confirmed that it will take approximately 25 to 30+ hours to complete the game in single-player mode. However, the game also offers a New Game+ option and encourages multiple playthroughs.
Hexworks, the successor to the 2014 game with the same name, is set to release the Soulslike action RPG Lords of the Fallen on PC, PS4, and Xbox Series X/S. The game has been known by several working titles, including Lords of the Fallen 2, Lords of the Fallen: Dark Crusade, and The Lords of the Fallen. One of the game's standout features is the connection between the mortal world of Axium and the realm of the dead known as Umbra. When players die in Axium, they are transported to Umbra and must return to the land of the living to regain their experience points.
Executive Producer Saul Gascon and Creative Director Cezar Virtosu recently spoke about the highly anticipated game Lords of the Fallen in an interview with MP1st. According to Gascon, the developers usually take approximately 25 hours to finish one playthrough of the game. However, they anticipate that new players will spend slightly more than 30 hours on average.
Virtosu mentioned the tutorial section in Lords of the Fallen as an example. He noted that it should take new players approximately an hour and a half to complete, while experienced developers can finish it in 25 minutes or less. These anecdotes provide players with an understanding of the time difference between a first playthrough and subsequent ones once they become proficient in the game.
Gascon added that the revamped version of Lords of the Fallen offers multiple classes and various endings based on the player's faction choice. While Hexworks has not disclosed a complete list of factions in the new game, they have revealed ten starting classes, one more than the previous installment. These diverse character options aim to bring in different playstyles and encourage players to embark on multiple playthroughs.
Gascon briefly discussed the New Game+ mode in Lords of the Fallen, mentioning that he wanted to keep some surprises for the players. He provided an example related to the Ancient Vestiges, which serve as the game's equivalent of Dark Soul's bonfires and the only means for deceased players to escape Umbra. Players have the option to construct new Vestiges or utilize the scattered Ancient Vestiges throughout the map. However, in New Game+, there is only a single Ancient Vestige, although players still have the ability to create additional ones.
Lords of the Fallen will be available on October 13 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
