Unleash Your Inner Warrior: How to Obtain the Soldier's Armor in Zelda

Get the powerful Soldier's Armor early in Tears of the Kingdom! This set may not be visually striking, but its high defense and low upgrade costs make it a wise choice for any adventurer Plus, you can obtain it right at the beginning of the game, providing valuable protection from the start

The Soldier's Armor is among the many impressive armor sets available in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While it may not stand out visually and lacks a set bonus when fully upgraded, its exceptional defensive capabilities and relatively low upgrade costs make it a reliable choice for any adventurer. Moreover, players can obtain the Soldier's Armor immediately after dropping down to the surface, making it a valuable asset during the initial stages of the game.

Like all other armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom, the Soldier's Armor set comprises three pieces. However, what sets it apart from other sets is that all three pieces are located in close proximity to each other, allowing players to acquire the Soldier's Armor quickly and with ease. Nonetheless, players should be prepared to break numerous rocks and therefore should ensure that they have sufficient rock-breaking weapons and Bomb Flowers before embarking on this quest.

To obtain the Soldier's Armor in Tears of the Kingdom, follow these steps:

To acquire the coveted Soldier's Armor set, players must venture into the depths of the Royal Hidden Passage. The first step is to head north from Lookout Landing and bypass the gates blocking the way to Hyrule Castle. For those who haven't yet unlocked the gates, Link's Ultrahand ability will come in handy. Once the gates are open, continue forward along the path until reaching a doorway flanked by two trees at coordinates -0320, 0781, 0074.

After completing the "To the Kingdom of Hyrule" main story quest, players can enter a new area where they must use Ultrahand to lift two heavy metal gates. Once inside, players should head up some stairs, take a left, and enter the first door on their left. This leads down some stairs, where players should again take a left. Although it appears to be a dead end, players can use Link's Ultrahand ability to open a trap door and reveal a path down to the Royal Hidden Passage.

Following the pathway for a short while will result in players being ambushed by a Black Horriblin. With its long weapon and quick mobility, the creature is a formidable foe. However, players can defeat it easily by shooting it in the butt with an arrow. After the battle, players will encounter a Red Chuchu and a set of steps leading downward. At the bottom of the staircase, players will find what appears to be a gravestone with intriguing lore inscribed on it.

Players will come across a blocked passageway opposite this gravestone, which can be cleared using Bomb Flower arrows or a rock breaker weapon. This is a common theme in the Royal Hidden Passage. On the other side, there are a few Stone Pebblits and some Luminous Stones that need to be broken to drop down into a new area below. Instead of heading north towards a pit with a Bubbulfrog, players should take the southern passage, which leads to a more open area with a Shock Like.

Players should proceed by breaking through the rocks on their left (-0265, 0649, -0012) after taking out the Shock Like. Following the passageway down and to the left, they will encounter a large pile of rocks on their right with an archway poking out of the top. To clear a path, players should use air attacks by jumping with X and attacking with Y while still in mid-air. This will allow them to pass through the archway and enter the small dungeon on the other side.

Upon entering the dungeon, players should prioritize taking care of the two Bokoblins before turning their attention to the small cell on the right with a large boulder blocking the way. Players can use Ultrahand to move the boulder and drop down to a passageway beneath it. Following this passageway for a short distance, players should use Link's Ascend ability and quickly defeat the Bokoblin that awaits. Doing so will grant access to a chest (-0267. 0638, -0035) containing a piece of the Soldier's Armor set.

To obtain the Soldier's Helm in Tears of the Kingdom, players should first acquire the Soldier's Armor chest piece. Once obtained, they can drop down the nearby hole and follow the passageway back to the hole beneath the small cell. Utilizing Ascend once again will allow players to return to the main part of the dungeon. From there, they can proceed through the archway that was previously blocked and head towards the opposite passageway, which is also obstructed by debris. By breaking through the rocks and crossing the small bridge, players will find themselves in a cavern filled with water and ore.

Breaking the debris blocking another archway after following the water round to the left will lead players to a small dungeon where they will encounter a dangerous Ice Like. It is advisable to defeat it from a distance to avoid being frozen. Once defeated, players can claim the second piece of the Soldier's Armor, the Soldier's Helm, from the chest located at coordinates (-0230, 0467, -0039).

To obtain the final piece of the Soldier's Armor set, players must backtrack through the archway and follow the water to the left. While facing some Keese and a breakable blue-ish wall with ore behind it, continue up the path until encountering more rocks which must be destroyed. After defeating the Moblins on the other side, players can cross over a stone bridge and break through yet another wall on the far side.

After dispatching a few more Stone Pebblits, players should turn their attention to the large pile of debris on their right. It appears to conceal another archway, which can be accessed with a few jump attacks. This leads to the final dungeon, where a regular Like Like and another Stone Pebblit lie in wait. Once they have been defeated, players can claim the Soldier's Greaves from the chest (-0307, 0281, -0006). These greaves are the last piece needed to complete the Soldier's Armor set.

To upgrade the Soldier's Armor Set in Tears of the Kingdom, players must first acquire all three pieces: the Soldier's Helm, Soldier's Armor, and Soldier's Greaves. Once they have done so, they can visit the Great Fairy Fountains located throughout the game. The first fountain can be found in Kakariko Village. By offering the Great Fairy the necessary materials, players can upgrade their armor to the next level, increasing its defensive capabilities.

Players can enhance the defensive capabilities of Soldier's Armor by upgrading it at the four Great Fairies, just like any other armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom. Although there is no set bonus, the upgraded Soldier's Armor can become one of the most formidable defensive armor sets in the game. When all three pieces are fully upgraded, it boasts an impressive 84 defense stat, which ties for the highest in the game.
