Unleash Your Inner Sky Surfer with Tears of the Kingdom's Glitch

Unleash your inner adventurer in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with an exciting new glitch that lets players defy gravity and soar through the skies while shield surfing

A player of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has discovered a unique way to traverse through the game by utilizing a glitch that allows them to shield surf through the air for an indefinite amount of time. The game's new abilities, including Ultrahand and Fuse, have given players more creative freedom to overcome challenges and showcase impressive vehicle creations. Although players continue to debate the issue of weapon durability, the ability to combine items using Fuse has provided a solution to increase attack power and inherit new properties. Furthermore, a resourceful player has discovered an innovative use for Fuse, enabling them to explore Hyrule in an entirely new way.

SmallAnt has discovered a glitch that allows Link to gain extra height during a shield surf in the game Tears of the Kingdom. The glitch involves equipping the Hylian Shield and fusing a Zonai rocket to Link's current weapon. As SmallAnt demonstrates in a short clip on Twitter, the fused weapon rocket triggers during the animation of the shield surf, canceling it but adding height to the jump. While this technique requires a small amount of battery energy, it can be continuously used to propel Link forward. SmallAnt has dubbed the move the "pocket rocket" and has confirmed that it works on all versions of the game. It remains unclear if Nintendo is aware of the glitch or if they plan to address it in a future patch. In the meantime, fans can continue to enjoy the sky surfing technique while being aware that it may not be available in the future.

Nintendo has been diligent in addressing glitches and exploits that go against the original vision of the developers, which is why the potential future for Zelda shouldn't come as a surprise despite being a single player, offline experience. For instance, Nintendo promptly removed the duplication glitches that players were exploiting in earlier versions of Tears of the Kingdom. Although some duplication glitches still exist, they are no longer as simple to execute. The game is currently available on Nintendo Switch.
