Unleash Your Inner Farmer in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Unleash the farming potential in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by unlocking the Hateno Village farm Discover how to cultivate crops and educate young minds for a prosperous harvest

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players can enjoy an enhanced housing system with extensive customization options beyond what was offered in Breath of the Wild. As a homeowner, Link also gains the privilege of owning some farmland in Hateno Village where he can grow crops. This allows him to cultivate elusive ingredients necessary for cooking and crafting elixirs.

To unlock the ability to farm, Link must complete a side quest consisting of two parts that begins in Hateno Village. There are no prerequisites required to start this side quest, except for the player to have unlocked the camera.

It's worth mentioning that Link is not required to purchase a house or complete any quests in Tarrey Town in order to initiate this side quest and gain access to the farm in Tears of the Kingdom. Additionally, Link is unable to farm at his own residence. The sole farm in Tears of the Kingdom is situated in Hateno Village, and the unlocking process is outlined below.

How to Unlock the Farm in Tears of the Kingdom

To reach Hateno Village, head northeast of Ebon Mountain or southwest of Mount Lanayru. The quickest way is to fast travel to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and glide towards the village. Look for it nestled below some nearby ponds at coordinates 3356, -2129, 0121. To gain access to a fast travel point, players should discover and complete the nearby Zanmik Shrine.

Once players arrive in Hateno Village, they should follow the detailed wooden signs that lead to the village school located at coordinates 3365, -1984, 0129. Here, they'll meet Symin, Link's former colleague from the Ancient Tech Lab in Breath of the Wild. He now faces a new challenge - convincing his young students about the occurrence of the Calamity and other historical events.

Upon successfully completing both parts of the "Teach Me a Lesson" quest series, players will finally gain access to the Hateno School farm, which is situated southwest of the school building. This unlocks the ability to cultivate crops in the designated area.

The crops in Tears of the Kingdom can be easily grown with the help of Uma, who is willing to tend to them in Link's absence without any charge. Unlike other farming games, there are no special seeds to collect, just the actual fruit or vegetable is required for cultivation.

It takes two in-game days for the crops to mature and be harvested. However, it's important to note that resting or sleeping won't speed up the process. To ensure a successful harvest, players must leave the village and return at least once for the crops to grow and become available.

With the newfound ability to farm, players can now cultivate highly sought-after ingredients, such as Endura Carrots, to ensure a consistent supply of top-tier food items to keep their inventory fully stocked.
