In the upcoming Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5 for World of Warcraft, players will have the exciting opportunity to customize their Dragonriding drakes with sought-after cosmetics. This unexpected addition not only enhances the game's overall experience but also hints at a potential evolution in the Dragonflight storyline. Currently available for preview on the Public Test Realm, Patch 10.1.5, titled "Fractures in Time," explores the conflict between the Bronze and Infinite Dragonflights. The latter aims to fracture the timeline in the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon, setting the stage for an epic adventure.
Players of World of Warcraft may soon have the opportunity to customize their dragons with colors inspired by the Infinite Dragonflight antagonists. The Patch 10.1.5 PTR has revealed various scale, horn, skin, fur, and eye colors in the iconic black and blue pattern of the Infinite Dragonflight. Although it is currently unknown where or how players will unlock these options, they may be obtained either as a drop from the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon in Dragonflight or as a reward from the time-twisting repeatable quests from Eon's Fringe in Fractures in Time. This new customization option could signify a significant development for the Infinite Dragonflight, as it may indicate a potential collaboration between the Bronze and Infinite Dragonflights, who have historically been at odds. In Thaldraszus, there was a portion of the story where these two factions worked together, and since they are composed of the same individuals from different time periods, these cosmetics may be rewarded as a way to reconcile their differences.
It's possible that the new Dragonriding drake customizations may simply serve as cosmetic rewards, allowing players to personalize their mounts and make them look cooler. The unique and intriguing scale patterns of the Infinite Dragonflight have always caught players' attention, and many are eager to adorn their mounts in similar fashion. As such, players are understandably excited about the prospect of collecting these cosmetics if and when they become available in the game.
Thankfully, fans of Dragonriding in Dragonflight need not worry, as the dynamic flying system will soon be introduced to the rest of World of Warcraft. The game developers aim to have the system fully integrated by the end of Dragonflight, with players getting a sneak peek during the upcoming Kalimdor Cup racing event in Patch 10.1.5.
