Unleash Unbelievable Range with Zelda's Tears of the Kingdom Recall Ability

Unleash the full potential of Link's Recall ability in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as one player discovers an astonishingly vast range in a recent range test Prepare to be amazed!

A player of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom decided to test the limits of Link's Recall ability, and the results were surprising. Nintendo's design approach for the latest Zelda game was to expand upon the already vast map of Breath of the Wild, adding islands in the sky, deep caverns, and new caves as a result of the Upheaval event in-game. However, the replacement of the popular Sheikah Slate with a new suite of powers, including Ultrahand for creating objects, Fuse for unifying weapons and shields, and Ascend for escaping through ceilings, was a surprise for many fans. The Recall ability has garnered attention from players, who have been testing its power to rewind time.

A subReddit user named NightTarot, from the Tears of the Kingdom community, conducted a range test for the Recall ability on a sky island. To do so, NightTarot launched a rocket fused with wood and Naydra's Scale, and shot an arrow into it, propelling it a great distance before it ran out of fuel and dropped the scale to the ground. While this could have been a moment of panic for most players, NightTarot seized the opportunity to test Recall's capabilities.

The test revealed that Tears of the Kingdom's Ultrahand ability was unable to reach the dropped item. However, Recall was able to display a yellow line where the item had fallen, and with the cursor's movement, it was possible to rewind the item's trajectory even at such a great distance. It was discovered that Recall's limitation was more time-based than distance-based, allowing for only 20 seconds of rewinding provided there was movement. Beyond that, the item would remain frozen in place, ultimately lost. Additionally, item despawn presented another issue for Recall, making any testing null and void.

The intricate systems in Tears of the Kingdom make for a diverse and personalized experience for each player. Despite the presence of a main storyline, the game allows for individualized paths to reach certain points. Zelda enthusiasts have showcased their innovative solutions to in-game obstacles, or explored the boundaries of what is achievable within the game. Tears of the Kingdom is currently accessible on Nintendo Switch.
