Where to use Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tails

Ice-Breath Lizalfos are the antithesis of Fire-Breath Lizalfos. These creatures conceal themselves in the snowy landscape with the intention of ambushing Link. Upon defeating them in the Tears of the Kingdom, there is a slight possibility of obtaining a valuable monster component known as an Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tail.

As their name suggests, Ice-Breath Lizalfos thrive in colder environments. Therefore, acquiring their tails can be quite challenging for players without suitable equipment to withstand the freezing temperatures. Nevertheless, it is crucial for players to procure Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tails in order to enhance two armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Ice-Breath Lizalfos

Ice-Breath Lizalfos can be found in both the Gerudo Highlands and the Hebra Mountains, as stated in the compendium. However, an interesting fact is that in the Gerudo Highlands, they only appear during the nighttime. During the daytime, players will encounter the Fire-Breath Lizalfos instead.

In order to access the areas where the Ice-Breath Lizalfos spawn, Link must equip either level 2 cold-resistant gear or consume a level 2 cold-resistant meal/elixir. Upgrading armor can be done at a Great Fairy, although players must first unlock two Great Fairies to reach the appropriate level for armor enhancement. To combat the cold, another method is to wear a single piece of cold-resistant armor while wielding a fire weapon, such as a melee weapon infused with a Ruby or an Igneo Talus Heart.

Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tails cannot be detected using the Sensor+. However, players can easily track them by capturing a picture of an Ice-Breath Lizalfos. Doing so will facilitate the hunt for their tails. To obtain a Camera, players need to complete the "Camera Work in The Depths" side quest at Lookout Landing. Subsequently, in the "Presenting Sensor+" side quest, players can acquire the Sensor+ and the Hyrule Compendium from Robbie after clearing one of the "Regional Phenomena" main quests.

It is important to note that Ice-Breath Lizalfos are substantially vulnerable to fire. Using a Fire Fruit, Red Chuchu Jelly, or even Yunobo's Ability/Vow of Yunobo will instantly defeat them.

Gerudo Canyon (Night)

In Gerudo Canyon, players should warp to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower (-2423, -2202, 0302). If it's not nighttime, they should set up a fire and wait until it's dark. Afterwards, they can either walk or glide from the tower towards the southwest to find a camp consisting of three Ice-Breath Lizalfos. More Ice-Breath Lizalfos can be found around -2234, -2249, 0252. Lastly, there are two Lizalfos camped outside the entrance to the Spectacle Rock Cave.

Caution is advised while searching for Lizalfos near Spectacle Rock, as there is a Flame Gleeok nearby that will attack Link if it spots him.
