One player of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom successfully reaches the game's highest point using a custom vehicle, only to encounter a rapid turn of events. Nintendo has provided players with a wide range of tools in Tears of the Kingdom, allowing for a high level of creativity. With new abilities such as Ultrahand replacing the old Sheikah Slate skills, players have the freedom to approach challenges in their own unique ways. As a result, there has been an influx of videos and social media posts showcasing inventive solutions and unconventional builds.
Within the first week of the game's release, players began showcasing various extraordinary inventions, including a fully functional mech. While some players focused on finding new ways to tease Koroks, the majority of the creativity has been centered around exploration. Tears of the Kingdom incorporates familiar locations from Breath of the Wild, but also introduces vertical expansions, such as sky islands and the vast underground Depths. To navigate and map out these new areas, players have crafted impressive vehicles. However, there have been instances where their plans didn't quite go as expected.
One user on the Tears of the Kingdom subReddit, aymbatou, shared a video showcasing their attempt to reach the highest point in the game, Star Island above Lookout Landing. Using a 3 fan hover bike, aymbatou finally succeeded after multiple failed attempts that took around 30 minutes. However, their triumph quickly turned into a disaster when the force of the bike hitting the ground caused Link to fall off the side, plunging into a free fall. To make matters worse, when they opened the paraglider, the hover bike came crashing down on top of Link.
While some comments found humor in aymbatou's misfortune, others offered helpful advice for similar situations. One user suggested using a floating Zonai platform shot from their bow to halt the fall and then attaching vertical rockets to regain the lost height. There were also those who questioned the effort put into reaching the island since the Ancient Text slab for the Tears of the Kingdom side quest had already fallen down to Lookout Landing.
Some of the artistic innovation and trial and error have resulted in unexpected findings, some of which may not have pleased Nintendo. The release of Tears of the Kingdom has been plagued by several duplication glitches, most of which have already been fixed. Nevertheless, players are still finding new ways to exploit the game, such as using the Fuse ability and freezing meat to quickly accumulate a large amount of money. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be played on the Nintendo Switch platform.
