Unleash the Power: Unveiling Honkai Impact 3rd's Ultimate Eidolons Worth Pursuing

Anyone who is new to playing Honkai: Star Rail and is not familiar with Mihoyo's (also known as Hoyoverse) previous works may find the abundance of unconventional names quite overwhelming. For instance, instead of using the term "passives," characters in the game have what is called Eidolon Resonances, which essentially function as passives. This naming convention extends to the game's various materials, equipment, and skills, adding an extra layer of confusion. Specifically in Honkai: Star Rail, Eidolon Resonances refer to additional passive abilities that can be obtained multiple times through the gacha-based Warping system.

In Genshin Impact, a similar mechanic is referred to as Constellations. In both games, these additional passive abilities have the potential to elevate a character's power level from "pretty good" to "extremely overpowered." With that in mind, let's explore some of the Eidolon Resonances that players should definitely keep in mind when rolling for characters on specific banners or in general.

It is not advisable to purposely attempt to obtain multiple copies of characters, especially 4-Star Characters, as it involves a significant risk due to the low odds. However, players should still be aware of these Eidolons in case they happen to have fortunate outcomes with their Warps.

Preservation Path Traiblazer

Let's begin by discussing the Eidolons for the Trailblazer, which are the easiest to obtain. Both the Physical and Fire Trailblazer (also known as the Destruction and Preservation Paths) offer Eidolons that can be purchased from the World Stores.

The Shadows of Destruction, acquired from Wen Shiqi in the Master Control Zone of the Herta Space Station, are utilized by the Physical Trailblazer. Conversely, the Fire Trailblazer obtains the Shadows of Preservation from Pawnbroker Handian located in the Central Starskiff Haven of the Xianzhou Luofu. These Eidolons can be unlocked by simply grinding certain unique World currencies, making it impractical to overlook their benefits.

Jing Yuan

Moving on to the Eidolons that require multiple copies of the same character, let's focus on a more recent addition, Jing Yuan. Among his impressive Eidolons, it is his E1 ability that stands out the most, specifically in terms of raw damage and area-of-effect impact. Therefore, if players are fortunate enough to obtain two Jing Yuans during his banner event, it is important to note that his Slash, Seas Split E1 Resonance can greatly enhance their gameplay experience.

Natasha

Obtaining six copies of Natasha may seem like an impossible task, but many individuals have already accomplished it. Once activated, Natasha's E6 ability, Doctor's Grace, transforms her from a valuable healer into a Physical Damage Bruiser with the added benefit of healing abilities. Prior to activating this Resonance, Natasha's offensive capabilities are minimal. However, afterwards, she becomes a formidable Physical-type DPS character.

For those unable to acquire six Natashas, her E1 Resonance, Pharmacology Expertise, is a viable alternative. This ability greatly enhances her survivability during battles, providing a significant self-healing effect when her health is low and she becomes the target of attacks.

Bailu

Bailu, another healer in HSR (excluding Luocha, who is not yet released at the time of writing), possesses an impressive Eidolon that should not be overlooked. However, obtaining three copies of this 5-Star character can be quite challenging and is not advised for players to deliberately attempt.

Nevertheless, if players manage to achieve this feat and activate Bailu's Sylphic Slumber E2 Resonance, they will witness a significant increase in her overall healing capabilities due to the frequency at which she utilizes her Ultimate ability.

Dan Heng

In the 1.1 version of Honkai, players have limited options for Wind damage in the game. However, it seems that more options will be added in the future. Currently, players can choose to rely on Sampo and use him, hope to get Bronya (although she is not specialized in Wind DPS), or rely on Dan Heng, a default character.

Many players opt for the third option, and with good reason. Dan Heng proves to be a formidable DPS, considering all factors. But, if players manage to reach his E4 Resonance called Roaring Dragon and Soaring Sun, this seemingly introverted character with a mysterious past transforms from being merely 'decent' to 'exceptional'.

Tingyun

Tingyun is already an exceptional support character, even with subpar character build, thanks to her Benediction attack buff and her ability to recharge ally Ultimates. However, as she activates more Eidolon Resonances, her position on the hypothetical 'tier list' of characters leaps higher.

Unlike other characters who may have only a few beneficial Resonances, each Resonance holds significant value for Tingyun. Among them, her E1, known as Windfall of Lucky Springs, is not only the most attainable for players but also provides one of the most significant immediate effects by enhancing her Benediction target even further.

Sushang

Sushang's entire Sword Stance mechanism has the potential to transform her into a formidable anchor DPS if utilized and upgraded effectively. However, it does require a significant investment of Skill Points, which is intentional. Nevertheless, players can optimize their usage of Sushang by acquiring just two copies of her and activating her E1, allowing them to exploit Weakness Broken enemies to enhance her Sword Stance without depleting any Skill Points.

Qingque

The true game-changer for Qingque's performance lies in the activation of her three final Eidolon Resonances, namely her E4, E5, and E6 abilities. These abilities elevate her from being a mediocre DPS character to becoming one of the top contenders in the game. However, unlocking the full potential of these abilities requires players to dedicate a considerable amount of time, effort, and resources into developing Qingque's Light Cone.

That said, even with just her E4 Resonance known as Right on the Tiles activated, Qingque's damage output jumps up by an incredibly large amount.

Hook

Hook, one of the current Destruction Path characters in the game, stands out as the primary choice for single-target DPS, especially when equipped with the appropriate Light Cone. Her primary gameplay revolves around frequently Burning enemies and leveraging the 'Her! Remember Hook?' Skill to deal additional damage over time (DoT) with each subsequent turn.

And, with her E2 Resonance ability called Happy Tummy, Happy Body, managing the cycle of Burning and re-attacking enemies with Burn becomes significantly more convenient. She no longer needs to constantly worry about keeping the Burns active, thanks to Happy Tummy, Happy Body.

Asta

Lastly, let's delve into the realm of another fiery character known for her exceptional support abilities - Asta. The key to harnessing Asta's true potential lies in maintaining her Charging stacks, as they serve as the catalyst for enhancing the damage and speed of the entire team. Asta's prowess as a supportive force is evident both actively and passively, ensuring an advantageous edge in every battle.

However, in order to maintain this buff, a significant number of Skill Points must be allocated to her, allowing her to utilize the Meteor Storm Skill and ensure that all her Charging stacks remain at maximum. Fortunately, Asta's Moon Speaks in Wax and Wane E2 Resonance greatly alleviates the need for constant concern over these stacks.
