Players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can embark on "The Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy" side quest by travelling to the far northeastern corner of Hyrule. This quest comprises of a series of challenging labyrinths on the surface, in the sky, and in The Depths. Successfully completing these labyrinths will reward players with the coveted Evil Spirit Armor.
The Lomei Labyrinth Island is located in the waters off Akkala's northeastern coast and can be found at the coordinates 4655, 3555, 0089 on Hyrule's map. Players can easily reach the labyrinth by fast travelling to the Jochi-iu Shrine and then climbing up the hill towards the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. However, they should be cautious of the monsters and Yiga Clan that populate the hill during their ascent.
Players can effortlessly descend from the hilltop to the entrance of Lomei Labyrinth Island. Another option available to them is to construct a flying machine using Zonai gadgets and then take off from either the hilltop or the Rasiwak Shrine situated on the nearby beach. Upon arriving at the island, players can glide down to the small camp and stone tablet that awaits them at the entrance. Follow the Lomei Labyrinth Island Walkthrough for further guidance.
Upon arriving at Lomei Labyrinth Island, players will come across a stone tablet located at a nearby research camp. Translated into a notebook, the tablet offers a tantalizing reward for those who are able to conquer the labyrinth and uncover its secrets.
To aid in this endeavor, the notebook also reveals that the researcher who penned it has left a trail of acorns and nuts to guide players through the maze. Additionally, the researcher has left behind several other notebooks at various points throughout the labyrinth, chronicling their own journey and offering valuable insights to players as they delve deeper into the maze.
For those seeking the easiest path forward, following the researcher's trail as detailed in the map above is recommended. Although the island has been flooded and there are a few treacherous areas that players must avoid, the passageways themselves hold no other dangers, leaving players free to explore the labyrinth's many hidden weapons and treasures at their leisure.
After navigating through a maze of twisting hallways, the players will reach the end of their path which is marked by the presence of braziers. They must then climb up a ladder to enter the central chamber. Inside, they will find the Igashuk Shrine and a stone Zonai terminal waiting to be activated.
Upon activating the terminal, Link will hear an unfamiliar voice claiming to be the ruler of dragons. The voice will introduce "The Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy" to the player's Adventure Log and will ask Link to travel to the labyrinth floating in the sky above.
Following a brief conversation, Link gains access to the Lomei Labyrinth Island shortcut. The gates around the chamber open, allowing him to jump and glide directly to the exit. However, for players who prefer a faster route through the labyrinth, they can choose to climb up and walk along the top of the structure. By jumping down to the location marked with a star on the map (coordinates 4626, 3687, 0089), they can reach the end of the researcher's trail without having to navigate the flooded corridors of the labyrinth.
To reach the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, players need to head to the coordinates 4655, 3500, 1010, where it floats directly above the Lomei Labyrinth Island. However, to access the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, players should utilize the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. There, they can find the essential Zonai devices necessary to create a functioning flying machine or use a pre-assembled one that's ready for use.
To reach the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, players must use a flying machine as it is too far to reach by gliding alone, regardless of whether they use the archipelago's resources or not. Along the way, players can make a quick stop at North Akkala Sky Archipelago if their Energy Cells are running low. These sky islands are hard to miss as they are directly in Link's path towards the labyrinth. To replenish Energy Cells, Link can use Zonai Charges to fill and even overcharge their capacity at any time. Moreover, a Large Zonai Charge can fill all of Link's Energy Cells and prevent them from losing power for a short duration. If players need additional Battery Zonai devices or a new flying machine, the North Akkala Sky Archipelago has plenty of spare parts available for the last leg of their journey.
As players approach the southern side of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, they will notice a shrine on a platform with a familiar green glow. Upon landing, they will come across the Mogisari Shrine and another stone Zonai terminal that needs to be activated. Activating this terminal will prompt the voice to return and challenge Link to activate four other terminals within the labyrinth. Upon completion, the large stone door of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth will open, allowing players to explore its mysteries.
When starting the search in Lomei Sky Labyrinth, players should jump and glide towards the central platform. The maze's walls have strong updrafts and low gravity that allow Link to explore the vast corridors while traveling horizontally. If players encounter a wall, they can drop their glider and pass underneath it, as long as they stay above the bottom of the labyrinth. Players should keep an eye on Link's stamina and rest frequently on the provided platforms to avoid falling to his death. To reach the four terminals, players can use the map provided as a guide through the maze's winding paths.
To activate the terminals in the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, players must ensure that all four terminals are complete. The order of activation does not matter.
Alternatively, players can use a Zonai Spring or create a strong updraft with a fire and a Hylian Pine Cone to launch Link into the air above the structure.
Players can then proceed to the end of each path and drop from above to quickly reach the terminals. However, it is important to have enough resources to repeat this method multiple times.
Once the final terminal is activated, a large Zonai terminal will appear at the top of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth and the winds beneath the structure will intensify. Link can now ride the updraft to the top of the labyrinth without any assistance.
As Link activates the large terminal on the roof, the ruler of dragons will appear once again to greet him. The door to The Depths below will open and a final challenge awaits.
Players must test their courage by leaping from the top of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, through Lomei Labyrinth Island, and into the Lomei Depths Labyrinth below. It's a straight descent, but caution must be taken not to collide with any walls or floating islands on the way down.
As players plummet towards the ground, they will pass through the now-accessible door in the central chamber of Lomei Labyrinth Island and into the concealed chasm below.
Players should exercise caution when approaching the bottom of the drop as the area is shrouded in darkness. One option is to glide down slowly, while another is to bring along some Brightblooms for illumination. Upon landing, players will notice the glowing eyes of a Construct beneath the grate at their feet. From there, they must make their way down to the lower chamber of Lomei Depths Labyrinth to face off against a formidable Flux Construct III. If players emerge victorious, they will be able to activate the terminal at the side of the room, which will prompt the ruler of dragons to congratulate Link on his successful navigation of the labyrinth's challenges.
The Evil Spirit Armor can be obtained by the player by claiming the chest found in a small chamber that rises from the ground, marking the end of "The Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy".
Upon leaving the Lomei Depths Labyrinth, players can discover multiple chests containing Zonai weapons and a few Poes. Climbing atop the labyrinth allows them to activate the Kuhsagi Lightroot, illuminating the surrounding areas of The Depths.
The Evil Spirit Armor Set, which resembles Phantom Ganon from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, consists of three pieces, with the chest armor being one of them. When worn alone, it grants Link one level of stealth. However, when paired with the other two pieces of the set, Link gains a disguise that can deceive most Stal enemies and proficiency with bone weapons.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
