Hearthstone is releasing the Caverns of Time card expansion, which includes 34 new cards designed for the Wild and Twist formats.

The Twist format is set to officially launch in September with the Wonders ruleset. This nostalgic format only allows cards from Legacy up until Mean Streets of Gadgetzan to be used.

In addition to introducing new cards, Hearthstone is also planning to buff over 100 old cards. They will also be introducing Signature versions of 15 cards, which will feature full art alternatives to iconic Legendary minions.

Hearthstone's upcoming non-Standard card expansion, Caverns of Time, is set to be released next month, making September an exciting time for Wild Hearthstone players. In addition to this, Hearthstone introduced the Twist format earlier this summer, a new constructed format with monthly rotating rules. After a successful beta period in July, the game mode took a break in August but is officially launching in September with the Wonders ruleset. In this nostalgic format, only cards from Legacy and any sets prior to Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, along with the new cards from Caverns of Time, are allowed.

The Caverns of Time expansion introduces 34 fresh cards exclusively designed for the Wild and Twist formats. These cards provide significant support for existing archetypes like Jade Golem and C’Thun. However, due to the absence of Demon Hunter and Death Knight classes in earlier sets, they will not receive any new cards in this expansion and will not be playable under the Wonders Twist ruleset.

Furthermore, this update includes buffs for over 100 existing cards. Some cards have undergone adjustments to their Power, Health, or Mana costs to align them with the current state of Hearthstone. Additionally, certain cards have been reworked using mechanics that were not available when they were originally created. Similar to the new Caverns of Time set, these buffs will exclusively impact the Wild and Twist formats, as the altered cards are not currently legal in Hearthstone's Standard Year of the Wolf.

Hearthstone is introducing Signature versions of 15 cards from its past. These new collectibles present alternative full art for many legendary minions that have become iconic in Hearthstone's history. Players can obtain these Signature cards in Caverns of Time packs, along with the new and enhanced cards. Additionally, they can also acquire them in any other packs where the original versions are available. The release of the Caverns of Time set cards and buffs is scheduled for August 31, followed by the official launch of the Twist with the Wonders format on September 1.

In addition to this exciting news, Hearthstone has just released a major Battlegrounds update called Clash of Thunder. This update introduces game-changing Anomalies that modify the gameplay in Battlegrounds, including the inclusion of powerful Tier 7 minions in the pool. Furthermore, the update brings a few balance changes for several Standard cards from the Titans set. This update is already live in Hearthstone.
