Excitement is brewing among World of Warcraft players as the Warlock class is set to receive an abundance of new demon customization options. However, there's a caveat that has dampened the enthusiasm of many Warlock fans. The cost associated with these new options has left some players hesitant to take advantage of them. Recently, Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, has been undergoing testing on the Public Test Realm and has the potential to be a game-changer for Warlock enthusiasts. With the ability to customize demons at the Barbershop and unlock the class for all World of Warcraft races, it's no surprise that excitement is building.
Unfortunately, a recent PTR build has put a damper on the excitement surrounding the new customization feature. It appears that the Glyph of the Observer, which allows players to summon a floating eye demon in place of the felhunter, will not be compatible with the system. Blizzard has explained that this decision was made to maintain consistency among the Warlock's demons, ensuring that their functions can be easily recognized by other players. However, this change may have implications for other Warlock glyphs that alter the appearance of their demons. While some simply reskin the demons, others completely transform them into new creatures. If preserving the demons' silhouettes is a priority, glyphs like the Glyph of the Shivarra or Glyph of the Wrathguard may also face removal in the future.
Fans of World of Warcraft are expressing their disappointment with this recent development. In the past, Blizzard has cited the preservation of silhouettes as a reason for not adding certain cosmetic options. However, fans have pointed out that Hunter pets have a wide range of unique models that can be tamed in WoW, many of which possess similar abilities despite having different animations and models. These fans were anticipating that the new Warlock changes would bring about more options for demon customization, and the last thing they want is for their current options to be taken away.
Fortunately, this change has not yet gone live in World of Warcraft. In the past, Blizzard has rolled back similar changes based on feedback from the community, so it is not too late for Warlock enthusiasts to voice their opinions on the forum. Although the rest of the Warlock customizations being introduced in Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5 look promising, it is hoped that Blizzard will reconsider this particular decision so that players can enjoy even more options in the future.
