Uncovering the Enormous Size of Galakrond in World of Warcraft

Discover the awe-inspiring size of Galakrond, the massive dragon in World of Warcraft One player showcases its enormity by comparing it to iconic landmarks throughout Azeroth Prepare to be amazed by the sheer scale of this legendary creature

One player recently showcased the immense size of Galakrond, a long-forgotten villain in the World of Warcraft series, in comparison to various landmarks within the game. The demonstration emphasizes the magnitude of Galakrond and hints at the challenge players will face in dealing with this formidable foe in the upcoming content update, Fractures in Time. This update is currently available for testing on the public test realm and includes a Mythic difficulty mega-dungeon, "Dawn of the Infinite," where players will confront Iridikron the Stonescaled and the Infinite Dragonflight. Galakrond will also play a prominent role in the background of these time-twisted battlefields, despite being defeated many millennia prior to the events of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

Twitter user keyboardturn revealed that Galakrond's head is not just a decorative piece in the World of Warcraft environment, but an object that can be animated. The model for Galakrond has two bones that can be used as articulation points, as demonstrated by keyboardturn. In comparison to Deathwing, Galakrond's skull matches the former aspect of the Black Dragonflight in sheer size. In a separate picture, keyboardturn illustrated that Galakrond's skull is large enough to cover at least one-fifth of Stormwind City, with the Trade District and adjacent areas serving as comparison points. Despite its immense size, keyboardturn speculated that Galakrond would still be smaller than the benevolent entity Shien-zin Su, the great turtle that served as The Wandering Isle in the Mists of Pandaria expansion. As Shien-zin Su is a parallel to the World Turtle in various mythologies, it makes sense that even a mighty dragon like Galakrond would pale in comparison.

With the arrival of the "Dawn of the Infinite" mega-dungeon, players will be transported to a time period shortly after Galakrond's defeat, once again bringing attention to the monstrous dragon. It remains unknown whether Galakrond will reappear in the present through the manipulation of the Infinite Dragonflight, leaving players eager to uncover the mystery in the upcoming weeks and months. World of Warcraft can be played on PC.
