In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Hinox can be found in various locations throughout the game, with a total of more than 60 Hinox in total (67, to be exact). These Hinox come in different tiers: regular, blue, and black. Interestingly, there are no Silver Hinox in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the skeletal version, Stalnox, does not have different tiers.

The strategy to defeat a Hinox is similar to that of a Stalnox. Both bosses can be stunned by shooting an arrow at their eye, allowing for an attack. In the case of Stalnox, its eyes will eventually pop out and need to be attacked again to prevent it from reforming. If Link successfully defeats every Hinox in Tears of the Kingdom, he will receive a rewarding item: the Hinox medal, which is considered to be much better than Hestu's Gift.

Tulin's auto-aiming bow-and-arrow attacks are incredibly effective in repeatedly stunning the Hinox, as its weak spot is its eye, which can be difficult to aim for when Link is mainly engaged in close combat with the Hinox. Hyrule's surface is home to a total of 29 regular Hinox that Link can encounter.

Where To Find Hinox in the Depths

Hinox in the depths fight just like their counterparts on the surface, but their Gloom-based attacks have the ability to deplete Link's Max Hearts. These Hearts can only be replenished by consuming Sundelion food or visiting a Lightroot, or by returning to the surface to bask in the sun's natural rays. In total, there are a total of 18 Hinox in the Depths.

Keep the Avatar of Tulin summoned while battling these bosses to effectively stun-lock them, unless they cleverly shield their eyes from attacks. In such cases, it is advisable to retreat and wait until they cease their defensive stance. Utilize a hefty weapon and employ the spinning charge attack to swiftly deplete their Health bar while they recuperate from the eye injury.

All Stalnox Locations on the Surface

Stalnox, the skeletal version of Hinox, appears multiple times in Tears of the Kingdom. While they are not as common as Hinox, there are only 10 of them in the Surface of Hyrule. However, players should not underestimate them as they possess a wider range of attacks that can be lethal if not taken seriously.

To defeat a Stalnox, players must aim for its eye and strike it during its vulnerable stun period. This initial phase of the battle is similar to fighting a Hinox. However, as players deplete its health, the Stalnox will remove parts of its body, such as its rib cage, and utilize them as weapons. It is crucial to be prepared with Recall ability to deflect these projectiles back at the Stalnox.

When the Stalnox's Health is almost depleted, its eyeball will emerge from its socket for a brief moment. If Link successfully strikes the Stalnox eye while it is bouncing on the ground, the boss will be vanquished. However, if he delays too much, the Stalnox will fully regenerate, albeit with a small portion of its Health restored.

Where To Find Stalnox in the Depths

In the Depths, there are also ten Stalnox just like on the Surface, but their locations differ. It is worth noting that some of the Stalnox in the Depths may use Gloom-based attacks. To ensure Link's Hearts remain intact, it is advisable to prepare Sundelion and Dark Clump food in advance.

Stalnox are often strategically positioned in areas of significance, such as beneath Skull Lake in the northern region where they guard Biggoron's Sword. Another Stalnox can be found lurking beneath a pile of debris in the Royal Hidden Passage. Unlike Hinox, Stalnox are typically found in key locations, indicating the presence of valuable items and treasures near these boss spawn points.
